We are hiring a contract Final Assembly Tooling Engineer for a long-term assignment in Dearborn, MI. Pay ranges from $42 to $46.50 per hour. The position is a W2 contract through Bartech Staffing under Impellam Group.
Position Overview
Responsible for delivering Final Assembly tooling aligned with GVOSS standards. This role ensures consistent implementation of engineering standards, lessons learned, and tooling processes while supporting program launches and continuous improvement initiatives.
Key Responsibilities
Design and deliver final assembly tooling in alignment with GVOSS standards
Partner with engineering teams to implement best practices, standards, and lessons learned
Mentor and guide FAE Engineers and tooling integrators through the design process
Ensure production tooling meets application requirements and GVOSS intent
Support tooling development, validation, and launch readiness activities
Maintain expertise in tooling processes and launch execution
Required Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or Industrial Engineering
5+ years of experience with GVOSS, tooling, manufacturing processes, and facilities
Experience supporting at least one major program launch
Strong problem‑solving skills with a data‑driven approach
Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint)
Experience in tool design, tooling development, and modifications
Passion for innovation and continuous improvement
Preferred Qualifications
10+ years of experience with GVOSS, tooling, and manufacturing processes
Background with virtual manufacturing tools
Experience in final tool design and delivery
Familiarity with FAE processes, tooling systems, and joining equipment
Strong collaboration skills with Final Assembly Engineering Integrators
Knowledge of statistical methods (control charts, data collection, analysis)
Excellent communication and presentation skills
