Legal Assistant

Job SummaryA highly organized and proactive Legal Assistant is needed to provide administrative and case support to a litigation team, working closely with a Paralegal on active matters. This role is integral to ensuring smooth day-to-day case operations, maintaining accurate documentation, and supporting communication between clients, attorneys, and internal staff.The ideal candidate is dependable, detail-oriented, and able to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment. This position offers the opportunity to be involved throughout various stages of the litigation process while developing hands-on experience supporting complex casework. Initial training will be conducted in-office, with the potential for flexibility based on performance and tenure.Key ResponsibilitiesPartner with a Paralegal to support ongoing litigation matters from intake through resolutionAssist with drafting, formatting, and organizing legal documents, correspondence, and case materialsMaintain case files and ensure all documentation is properly stored, updated, and easily accessibleCommunicate with clients to gather information, provide updates, and coordinate requests as directedHelp track deadlines, court dates, and case-related timelines to ensure timely completion of tasksSupport the preparation and processing of discovery materials, including document collection and organizationCoordinate the retrieval and management of relevant records and supporting documentationAssist with court filings and ensure compliance with applicable proceduresProvide general administrative support to the legal team, including calendaring, data entry, and document managementPerform additional duties as needed to support attorneys and paralegalsQualificationsPrior experience in a legal administrative or litigation support role preferredExposure to civil litigation environments is highly desirable (personal injury or negligence experience is a plus)Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple assignments simultaneouslyExcellent written and verbal communication skillsHigh attention to detail and accuracy in handling documentationAbility to work effectively both independently and as part of a collaborative teamProficiency with Microsoft Office and document management systemsAssociate’s degree or relevant legal training preferred
