Details Unit: 8AB - Neuroscience ICU/IMCU at a high-acuity, inner-city Level 1 trauma center Candidates must be prepared to float between the ICU and stepdown units Patient ratios: 1-2 patients in the ICU and 3-4 patients in the stepdown 12-hour night shifts, 3 shifts per week Travelers are expected to work 4 weekend shifts per month Block scheduling is generally not approved No on-call requirements Requirements Active RN license — GA license or compact RN license required Current BLS certification required Minimum 2 years of experience in neuro ICU or IMCU specialty Strong neuroscience nursing background required, with experience managing critical, complex neurological cases Experience in high-acuity, high-volume trauma environments required — candidates with experience limited to small or low-volume hospitals will not be considered EMR experience must be documented in work history Additional Information This facility is a high-acuity, inner-city Level 1 trauma center managing complex, diverse, and severe patient cases at significant volume Floating between the Neuro ICU and stepdown units (8AB) is expected as part of this assignment A specialty-matched skills checklist and copies of current certifications must be provided for consideration Local candidates are accepted for this position American Traveler Job ID P-687080.
