Join our fantastic team as a PRN Registered Nurse at our facility! This position is PRN during daytime hours (6 AM - 6:30 PM).Our organization is part of a national service network that focuses on housing and healthcare, and we are proudly recognized among the Best Nursing Homes by U.S. News & World Report!Hourly Compensation: $39.59 - $46.55, depending on experience.Work Schedule: PRN, daytime shifts (6 AM - 6:30 PM), with occasional weekend shifts required.The Registered Nurse will employ the nursing process to plan and deliver direct care to assigned residents. Responsibilities include organizing, directing, and executing shift routines within the designated nursing unit, as well as overseeing and evaluating the activities of staff as the designated leader in accordance with the Nurse Practice Act. The nurse will also take on "Building Charge" duties as assigned by the Director of Nursing or their designee.Qualifications:Active Registered Nurse license in Colorado.Current CPR certification.Completion of required continuing education units (CEUs).Experience in long-term care is preferred.Preferred Skills:Strong problem-solving abilities with the capacity to make independent decisions using initiative and discretion.Demonstrated leadership skills.Effective communication with staff, families, and external agencies.Ability to prioritize tasks effectively.Customer service-oriented with knowledge of effective service techniques.Clinical proficiency in performing physical and cognitive assessments of residents.Competence in using computers and electronic devices for tasks such as timekeeping and documentation.Team-oriented mindset.Understanding of current guidelines on Antibiotic Stewardship, Infection Prevention, and OSHA regulations.Essential Functions:Leadership and Direction:Exemplify positive communication skills with nursing assistants, interdisciplinary teams, and families.Maintain open communication with supervisors and colleagues during shift changes.Conduct rounds to assess residents' physical and psychosocial well-being.Assign staff appropriately to meet the needs of residents.Ensure that team members fulfill their responsibilities during shifts.Participate in scheduled nurses' and team meetings.Initiate disciplinary actions when necessary.Report any occupational exposures to hazardous materials according to facility policies.Present concerns and suggestions for improvement to facility leadership.Resident Care:Maintain proficiency in all required skills within assigned areas.Ensure residents are treated with dignity and respect.Report any suspected abuse or neglect immediately as per company policy.Administer nursing techniques to promote resident comfort and well-being.Provide medications and treatments as prescribed by physicians.Stay informed about medications and report any side effects or concerns to physicians.Document all required information accurately and promptly according to facility policies.Follow established routines for monitoring vital signs and administering treatments.Communicate changes in residents' conditions to healthcare providers.Keep families and representatives informed about residents' health status.Adhere to emergency protocols in case of urgent situations.Follow all Advance Directives and protocols.Documentation and Assessment:Assist in completing and updating residents' care plans.Evaluate and report on the performance of supervised personnel.Perform routine charting duties in line with established policies.Accurately transcribe physician orders and relay necessary information to other departments.Document and report all incidents involving residents, visitors, and staff.Maintain thorough and descriptive nurses' notes that reflect care provided and resident responses.Conduct ongoing assessments of residents as needed and document findings according to facility policy.Personnel Functions:Attend scheduled nurses' meetings.Maintain a clean and safe work environment.Fulfill continuing education requirements.Participate in employee performance evaluations and staffing recommendations.Foster positive relationships with inter-departmental staff.Complete required in-services and online training modules.Committee Involvement:Participate in various committees and meetings to enhance interdisciplinary collaboration.Other duties as assigned.Located at the base of the picturesque Grand Mesa in Eckert, CO, our facility offers staff the chance to engage with a close-knit community amidst stunning landscapes.
