This is a rare chance to take ownership of critical substation infrastructure projects with a global leader, in a role that offers both long-term stability and above-market pay.Job DescriptionAs a Substation Physical Designer, you will be working in a project team environment with engineers and other designers involved in high and extra high voltage substation design. Responsibilities will include the preparation of the following substation drawings:Substation General ArrangementSubstation Electrical Equipment PlansSubstation Section Views (Elevations)Substation Detailed Bill of MaterialSubstation Lightning Stroke Shielding PlanSubstation Grounding PlanSubstation Conduit, Electrical Connection and Grounding DetailsSubstation Below Grade Conduit/Raceway PlanControl Building Equipment, Cable Tray, Lighting, Grounding Plans and SectionMPI does not discriminate on the basis of race, color, religion, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity or expression, national origin, age, disability, veteran status, marital status, or based on an individual's status in any group or class protected by applicable federal, state or local law. MPI encourages applications from minorities, women, the disabled, protected veterans and all other qualified applicants.The Successful ApplicantEducation/Experience Requirements:Substation physical design experience.An Associate's Degree in Drafting, or a high school diploma and 2 or more years drafting course work or equivalent technical experience.Proficient with AutoCAD and/or MicroStation.Ability to visualize parts in 3D without the aid of the computer.Valued Knowledge/Skills:An Associate's Degree in Computer Aided Design.Knowledge of design techniques, tools, and principles involved in production of technical plans, blueprints, drawings, and models.Knowledge of the practical application of engineering science and technology, including the ability to relate various equipment to a technical design.What's on OfferCompetitive hourly rate between $55 and $75 USD.omprehensive medical, dental, and vision benefits.Contract to hire position with one of the nation's leading EPC firms.If you are interested in this Substation Project Designer role we encourage you to apply and take the next step in your career.ContactCullen SheridanQuote job ref
