Teacher Aide Floater (36245)

SummaryThe floater oversees the environment in an assigned classroom, assuring child health and safety, helping to support appropriate curriculum, and building positive relationships with children, parents and staff.Essential Duties and ResponsibilitiesRoom coverage at lunch, for additional prep/ writing time opportunities and classroom coverage to support students/classrooms having difficulty napping/teachers that are in training and as necessary.Office duties, answering phones, reception coverage.Maintain classroom management, sanitation and safety and support student transitionsProvide a normal routine by maintaining daily schedule adherenceMust keep classroom staff, and school administration informed concerning children, and issues.Maintaining the Agency's policies and proceduresAttend on-going trainingAdditional duties as requiredPosition Type/Expected Hours of WorkThis is a part-time position; days and hours of work are generally Monday through Friday, 9:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. 25 hours per a week.Required Education and Experience18 years and older.HS Diploma and willingness to obtain New York State Teaching Assistant Certification.A desire to work with children through positive interaction.Prior experience preferred but not necessary.Dependable, flexible, and team player required.Physical Demands:Demonstrate full range of motion. Be able to lift to 40 lbs.
