Administrative Support Specialist – Licensing & Compliance (Program Specialist I)Hybrid | Short-Term AssignmentDirect Counsel is seeking an Administrative Assistant for a short-term, hybrid assignment with a well-established public sector organization in San Francisco. This is a great opportunity for a detail-oriented administrative professional looking to contribute to a high-volume, process-driven environment.Location: San Francisco, CA (Hybrid – 2 days onsite per week, plus first and last day)Assignment Duration: May 6, 2026 – June 26, 2026Key ResponsibilitiesSupport annual licensee renewal processes and suspension workflowsProcess both scanned and physical mail, including data entry for returned mailGenerate notices in response to incoming correspondence and update internal systems with detailed notesMaintain accurate and organized recordsReview and respond to system-based inquiries, closing cases as appropriateQualificationsPrior experience in an office setting performing clerical or administrative duties preferred2+ years of data entry and clerical experience preferred1+ year of customer service experience preferredRequired SkillsStrong organizational and time management skills with the ability to meet deadlinesHigh attention to detail and ability to quickly learn new processes and proceduresProficiency with modern office technology, including computer systems and web-based applicationsClear and professional communication skills (written and verbal)Ability to handle inquiries effectively and maintain confidentialityProfessional demeanor with strong interpersonal skillsEducationHigh School diploma or equivalent requiredAdditional RequirementsCandidates must not be current or former members of CalPERSThis is an excellent opportunity to gain experience within a structured, high-impact administrative function while working with a collaborative team.To apply, please submit your resume to Direct Counsel.
