Job Title: Family Law Associate Attorney (2-5 Years Experience)Location: Acton, MACompensation: $120,000 - $150,000 K base salary Firm OverviewOur client is a dynamic family law practice dedicated to providing compassionate, strategic, and effective representation in all aspects of family law matters. They handle a wide range of contested and uncontested cases, including divorce, child custody, support, and modifications. We are seeking a motivated, detail-oriented associate with 2 plus years of relevant experience to join our team and grow their practice in a collaborative environment. Need to bill 1200 hours at a minimum.Key ResponsibilitiesManage a caseload of family law matters (typically 25-50 active cases, with support from senior attorneys and paralegals) from inception through resolution, including discovery, motions, negotiations, mediations, and trials.Draft and file high-quality legal documents, including complaints, motions, discovery requests (interrogatories, document requests, depositions), affidavits, settlement agreements, and pretrial memoranda.Conduct legal research on Massachusetts family law issues, prepare memoranda, and analyze case strategy.Represent clients in court proceedings, including hearings, motion practice, depositions, and trials in Probate and Family Court.Advise clients on their rights and options in matters involving:Divorce and separationChild custody and parenting plansChild support and alimony/spousal supportProperty divisionModifications of the existing orderPaternity, adoption, guardianship, and domestic violence/restraining orderCollaborate with senior attorneys, paralegals, and support staff to ensure efficient case handling and excellent client service.Participate in client intake, consultations, and ongoing communication to keep clients informed and manage expectations.Attend and prepare for mediations, settlement conferences, and alternative dispute resolution processes.Maintain organized case files, meet all deadlines, and comply with the Massachusetts Rules of Civil Procedure and Probate and Family Court rules.Qualifications:Experience: 2 plus years of family law litigation experience (preferred) or substantial civil litigation experience with exposure to family law.
