Golf Attendant
Golf Attendant The Golf Attendant provides the first and last point of contact with each Member and Guest at Old Edwards Club or Glen Cove Golf Courses. They create a warm and genuine experience for Members and Guests while they are in the parking lot, on the practice facility, and on the golf course by assisting with golf bags and clubs, parking cars, fulfilling golf course requests, and keeping the golf cart and valet operation moving at a timely and efficient pace. Responsibilities include ensuring correct set-up, maintenance, and breakdown of the valet point while providing a warm welcome and thoughtful farewell to each Member and Guest. They maintain communication with the gate, other team members, and the golf shop. They follow valet processes for each arriving and departing Member/Guest. They ensure proper set-up, maintenance, and break down of the Practice Facility. They help enforce dress codes, golf etiquette, and lightning safety procedures. They consistently check comfort stations, sand bottle refill stations, "treasure chests," and public areas to make sure they are fully stocked and clean at all times. They appropriately respond to emergency and first aid situations as trained to company standards. They deliver food/drinks, golf balls, personal property, etc. to golfers, as needed. They ensure proper and complete information is given to golfers prior to teeing off and appropriate spacing between groups on the course is achieved. They ensure proper pace of play, as needed. They are punctual and well-groomed with a clean, neat uniform for each shift. Other duties and responsibilities may be assigned at the discretion of the Golf Professional. Qualifications include previous experience in customer service related or golf related field is preferred, but not required. Experience playing golf and knowledge of the game is desired. Ability to work independently and as a part of a team is required. Customer service and problem resolution oriented. Must be able to maintain composure and calmness in stressful situations. Valid Driver's License required. Command of English Language (Oral and Written) required. Must have ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral or diagram form. The employee is regularly required to stand, jog, walk the property, climb stairs, and sit for periods of time. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Duties are performed in both indoor and outdoor conditions during all four seasons, exposed to all sorts of elements, including heat, rain, cold, etc.
