Join Our Mental Health Services Team in Lake County!
Two volunteer positions are currently available for mental health professionals.Disaster Mental Health -Service you will give: Work remotely as you provide mental health support over the phone to survivors coping with the stress of a recent home fire or other disaster.Schedule: You provide your availability, but many schedules throughout the week will work if you are able to contact survivors at times that are best for them.Services to the Armed Forces -Service you will give: Teach in-person classes that help military members, their family, or veterans as they cope with the stress of military deployments.Schedule: You provide your availability, but classes typically must be taught on weekdays during regular business hours.You must have a professional mental health background to fill these volunteer positions.CURRENTLY LICENSED MENTAL HEALTH PROFESSIONALS:At minimum, holds a Master's Degree in one of the mental health professions listed below; ANDHolds a current, unencumbered license from, or is registered with, any U.S. state or territory as asocial worker,psychologist,professional counselor,marriage and family therapist, orpsychiatrist(any level license/registration, including non-clinical licenses such as Licensed Masters Social Worker or LMSW)CURRENT SCHOOL PSYCHOLOGISTS AND SCHOOL COUNSELORS:At minimum, holds a master's degree in school psychology or school counseling; andHolds a current, unencumbered license or certification as aschool psychologist or school counselorissued by an appropriate state board.CURRENT PSYCHIATRIC NURSES:Have a state license as a registered nurse; andHave a minimum of two years of experience working in a psychiatric setting, verified by a letter from a current or previous employer.RETIRED MENTAL HEALTH PROFESSIONALS:Meet the above educational criteria for specified profession; andHeld a license (any level license) from any U.S. state or territory as asocial worker,psychologist,professional counselor,marriage and family therapist,psychiatric nurse or psychiatrist, ora certificate as a school psychologist or school counselor,within the five years* prior to on-boarding as a Disaster Mental Health worker; and Maintained a license or certification in good standing upon retirement and without any disciplinary action taken by the issuing U.S. state or territory licensing or certification board.Submit a volunteer application today –Copy and Paste this Link:https://volunteerconnection.redcross.org/?nd=lead&a=160366&h=153&p=1884873&or=7735Select "Apply Now" and follow the steps till application is submitted (Takes about 10 minutes)Schedule a call to learn more about this role -Copy and Paste this Link: https://outlook.office365.com/owa/calendar/AmericanRedCrossVolunteerRecruitmentCaliforniaGoldCountry@AmericanRedCross.onmicrosoft.com/bookings/s/s2xeo3CDfk2avkjbruSzyQ2
