Python Automation Test Engineer

Duties Develop, maintain, and enhance automated test scripts using Python to validate software functionalities across web, mobile, and API platforms. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand requirements, translate them into comprehensive test cases, and execute tests aligned with Agile methodologies. Integrate automated tests into CI/CD pipelines using tools like Jenkins or GitLab to enable rapid feedback and efficient release cycles. Perform functional, regression, performance, and system testing on diverse applications including mobile (Android/iOS) and web-based systems. Conduct root cause analysis on defects identified during testing phases, working closely with developers to troubleshoot issues using debugging tools and data analysis skills. Utilize defect tracking tools such as Jira or HP ALM to document issues clearly and follow through until resolution. Participate in requirement gathering sessions, contribute to test planning strategies, and support user acceptance testing (UAT) processes. Requirements Proven experience in test automation using Python with frameworks like Selenium WebDriver, TestNG, JUnit, or Cucumber. Strong knowledge of mobile testing for Android and iOS applications, including experience with Appium or similar tools. Familiarity with RESTful APIs testing using tools like Postman or REST-assured; experience with API validation is essential. Proficiency in SQL databases such as MySQL or Microsoft SQL Server for data validation and analysis; experience with PL/SQL is a plus. Solid understanding of SDLC (Software Development Life Cycle), Agile practices, DevOps principles, and version control systems like Git or SVN. Ability to perform performance testing using LoadRunner or similar tools; experience with system testing and QA/QC processes is desirable. Excellent analytical skills for data analysis, troubleshooting complex issues, and conducting root cause analysis. Strong scripting abilities in Python along with knowledge of other languages such as Java or C# is advantageous. Experience working with defect tracking tools like Jira or HP ALM; familiarity with CI/CD pipelines using Jenkins or Azure DevOps is preferred. Effective communication skills to collaborate with business analysts, developers, and stakeholders; ability to gather requirements accurately.
