Plumbing Production Manager

About CT MechanicalCT Mechanical is a commercial mechanical contractor and proud division of Comfort Temp Company, one of Florida's most established mechanical contractors. We build and operate large-scale plumbing, HVAC, and mechanical systems for commercial and industrial clients across the state.Our Gainesville office is growing, and we are looking for a Production Manager who can lead from the front. Someone who knows how plumbing work actually gets done, can hold a team accountable, and keeps production moving without needing to be managed themselves.The RoleThis is a hands-on field leadership position. You will be responsible for turning project plans into real jobsite production — managing manpower, supporting your superintendents and foremen, removing obstacles, and making sure work gets done safely, on time, and at a standard the company can be proud of.You will also spend meaningful time at a desk. Tracking production data, managing staffing schedules, documenting field concerns, and communicating clearly with project managers and senior leadership are all part of this job. If you are only comfortable on a jobsite or only comfortable in an office, this role is not the right fit. We need someone who can do both well.What Success Looks LikeIn your first 90 days, you will have:Established relationships with your superintendents and field crews and earned their trustIdentified the top production obstacles in active Gainesville projects and started removing themImplemented or improved manpower tracking and reporting practicesDemonstrated consistent presence on jobsites and in the officeCommunicated clearly with senior leadership about field performance, staffing gaps, and risksLonger term, success means field production is predictable, your team is held accountable with respect, problems get surfaced early, and work moves the way it is supposed to move.Key ResponsibilitiesField LeadershipOversee daily production of plumbing field staff in the Gainesville marketSupport superintendents, foremen, and field crews with scheduling, communication, and daily executionDrive productivity, reduce downtime, and eliminate recurring jobsite obstaclesIdentify problems early and escalate risks or concerns to senior leadership before they become costlyReinforce safety standards consistently and without exceptionManpower and SchedulingCreate and maintain staffing schedules across active projectsPlan and adjust manpower levels to match project demandsReview and approve time-off requests for superintendents and field employeesParticipate in final interviews for field candidatesProduction Tracking and AdministrationTrack manpower, production updates, schedules, and field documentation using Excel and Microsoft OfficeMaintain accurate records related to staffing, employee performance, field concerns, and follow-up itemsProvide production updates and reporting to project managers and senior leadershipPeople LeadershipProvide direct feedback, coaching, and guidance to field team membersLead annual performance reviews and submit wage recommendationsAddress misconduct concerns and coordinate with HR on documentation and follow-upCommunicate suspension or termination recommendations to HR with appropriate documentationSet clear expectations and hold teams accountable while maintaining trust and respectRequiredWhat We Are Looking ForHands-on experience in commercial plumbing construction — you understand how the work actually gets doneProven experience leading field crews, foremen, or superintendents in a commercial construction environmentStrong working knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Outlook, Teams, and Word — you are comfortable spending significant time on administrative and tracking workClear, direct communication skills with field employees, project managers, and leadershipSafety-first mindset with the ability to enforce standards firmly and consistentlyAbility to travel throughout the Gainesville market as requiredPreferredExperience managing multiple active projects or jobsites simultaneouslyFamiliarity with commercial plumbing production metrics and manpower reportingPrior experience coordinating with HR on personnel mattersWhy CT MechanicalWe are a company that has been doing this a long time and doing it well.
