Opportunity: RN - Med Surg Tele Job Details: • 12-hour orientation required • Patient ratio of 6:1 for days, nights, and weekends • Weekend coverage required with every other holiday • 24-bed unit with daily census of 24 patients • Float required to all other inpatient units (agency staff pulled first) • No guaranteed specific scheduling requests or block scheduling • Must be willing to join "Emergency Team" during emergency events and stay at facility until event passes • Must maintain strict no call-in policy • Minimum 2 years of med surg telemetry experience required • Must live over 65 miles from facility address • Required certifications: BLS, ACLS, CPI, NIHSS, and telemetry interpretation • Louisiana or Compact license required upon submittal • NURSYS report must be current within 4 weeks of submission • Care for patients with chest pain, CAD, PVD, arrhythmias, diabetes, COPD, pneumonia, hypertension, MI, renal failure, PE, CHF, GI bleed, and syncope • Perform pre/post cardiac catheterization care, PPM/AICD procedures, ablations, and vascular surgeries • Manage and titrate cardiac and vasoactive drips including Cardizem, Amiodarone, Dobutamine, Nitroglycerin, Dopamine, and Heparin • Perform bedside sheath removal and manage telemetry monitoring • Work with chest tubes, PCAs, epidurals, and wound vacs • Handle blood product administration, central line care, PICC line management, and IV starts • Previous separation from facility required for 1 full year before return as traveler Facility: This medical center operates a comprehensive cardiovascular telemetry unit that provides specialized care for cardiac and medical-surgical patients.
