Working under the guidance of senior developers, you’ll apply foundational programming skills and learn to implement reliable, maintainable software that complies with federal security standards.You will contribute as a key member of a collaborative engineering team, working closely with senior developers, forensic specialists, and crypto SMEs to build features and tools essential to the program’s mission.You will gain hands‑on experience with modern development practices—writing clean code, participating in design discussions, supporting testing and debugging, and learning how to build software that withstands demanding operational environments. You’ll follow disciplined engineering processes, work within DevSecOps pipelines, and help integrate new features and improvements used daily by investigators and analysts.This role is ideal for a junior engineer who enjoys learning, collaborating, and growing in a mission‑focused environment where your contributions directly support national‑security and law‑enforcement operations.Work location: Work is mostly remote, with occasional visits to customer and/or corporate locations in DC/Northern Virginia. Applicants who do not currently reside within commuting distance to these locations should describe how they would satisfy any onsite requirements. Remote status is subject to change at the customer’s direction, but is expected to continue. ResponsibilitiesDevelop and maintain application features under guidance from senior developersAssist with software requirements, design, testing, and maintenance tasksUse modern programming tools, version control, and secure‑coding practicesSupport debugging, documentation, and sprint activitiesWork within DevSecOps pipelines and government‑compliant development workflowsTroubleshoot issues and support system integration tasksRequired Qualifications:Software‑development experience, working under general supervision with knowledge of commonly used concepts and practicesBachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, IT, or related fieldFamiliarity with software engineering fundamentals, secure coding, and CI/CD pipelinesExposure to applications supporting sensitive data or investigative workflows beneficialClear communication skills, both verbal and writtenStrong attention to detailCandidates must meet eligibility requirements for a Secret clearance. DHS Entry on Duty (EOD) suitability is required to begin support.
