Organizing DirectorThe Democratic Party of Illinois (DPI) is hiring an Organizing Director for the 2026 Coordinated Campaign. This is a historic election cycle, with the Governorship, U.S. Senate, and 17 Congressional seats at stake, along with the State Senate, State House, and critical county and local-level races across the state. DPI is building a first-of-its-kind coordinated effort to meet this challenge and win competitive races up and down the ballot.The Organizing Director is a critical member of the senior leadership team, and will develop and lead the statewide voter contact program. This is a full-time, in-person position located in Chicago, Illinois.Key ResponsibilitiesLead and motivate a large statewide organizing team in a fast-paced, high-pressure campaign environmentHire, train, and manage organizing staff, coaching organizing managers and maintaining a comprehensive training and development programDesign and implement systems, structures, and goal ramp to drive organizing performance and set, track, and exceed metric goals and benchmarksCollaborate closely with headquarters departments to align strategy, streamline operations, and build effective support structures for the organizing teamRepresent DPI in coordinated tables and build and maintain political relationships with candidates, partners, and stakeholdersDevelop and execute an integrated organizing strategy and Get Out the Vote operationRequired QualificationsAt least 3 cycles of electoral organizing experience, with at least one as a Director or statewide DeputyFluency in VAN and other organizing tools and platformsExperience managing staff across multiple levels, including managers and unionized teamsOutstanding verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skillsExcellent attention to detail and organizational skillsProven commitment to fostering an inclusive and collaborative team cultureMust have a cell phone, reliable laptop, valid driver's license, and vehicleThe salary for this position is $8,500 per month. The position concludes on November 15, 2026, with the opportunity for continued growth after the election cycle. This role requires working long and irregular campaign hours, including nights and weekends. The position includes a full benefits package, with health, vision, and dental insurance. Additional benefits include PTO, paid parental leave, and paid sick leave.
