As part of our Manufacturing Electrical & Controls team, you'll help build the world-class, state-of-the-art smart vehicles the world expects from us. Responsibilities What you'll do...Lead the assembly and machining controls engineering deliverables for VOME & PTO programs, from simultaneous engineering through program launch for all Global VOME & PTO sites.Implement and apply standard software and hardware controls architectures across all programs/plants, following the VOME & PTO specification.Ensure the identification and capture of lessons learned along with their application to new programs, as well as the impact to existing strategies and standards.Lead simultaneous engineering meetings with Tier I suppliers to orchestrate controls program reviews with all interested parties.Participate in management program reviews and represent the controls organization in commodity discussions.Drive the controls organization to resolve issues, including feasibility, timing, cost, and workload.Respond to emergency downtime events.Handle current scope program responsibilities.Deliver new model program work for various Powertrain programs supporting and working in either SE MI, Ohio, Kansas City, or Windsor, ONT.Travel up to 80% during peak program times for the next several years (Kansas City, Tennessee & Kentucky to name a few).Work off shift, as the need arises, during peak program install and launch times. Qualifications You'll have...Bachelors degree in Electrical Engineering or Software Engineering or equivalent related exerience (5+ years in Controls Engineering with strong ability to quickly learn and apply controls knowledge) Even better, you may have...Applied experience in Structured Control Language (SCL)Including FC/FB Editing and creationSoftware programming experience in Rockwell & Siemens - both preferredDirect program experience with assembly, machining, and tooling for Powertrain & Vehicle equipmentAbility to Engineer & Implement controls architectures (hardware/software)Validated programming capabilities with Siemens, Schneider, Bosch PLCs and with CNC/Motion controls systemsHands-on knowledge and ability to troubleshoot and fix PLC, CNC, robot, vision and other automation issuesDemonstrated skill in cell machining systems and integration of CNC controls, gantries and auxiliary equipmentKnowledge of assembly and machining RFID systems including complexity management, and QOS strategiesKnowledge of international electrical/safety standards (UL, ISO, IEC etc) and familiarity with internal/external safety processes (risk assessments, PSS, coordinated safety etc.)Able to read electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic prints and design electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic printsUnderstanding of communication network architectures and field bus protocolsKnowledge of PTME IT standard footprint applications such as FIS, QLS, QWX, GPTS, QDAS, OBL, PDS etc., & EP-Operator systemFamiliarity with program delivery elements from the cost study phase to launchProcess engineering knowledge including GPDS deliverables and plant operational impact of controls designsExperience interacting with senior management, process engineering, safety, IT, and plant production teamsSelf-starter, self-directed with organizational, communication, and interpersonal skillsRobust manufacturing background with heavy emphasis on production related controls experienceStrong leadership skills with the ability to lead in the technical aspects of the roleOne or more years of experience with MS Office (Word/Excel/PowerPoint/Outlook)Ability to implement AI Models to existing workstreams to improve team efficiencyExperience using problem-solving skills within FMEA, DOE, DMAIC, 5D, 8D processes VISA SPONSORSHIP IS NOT AVAILABLE FOR THIS POSITION SIGNIFICANT TRAVEL TO SUPPLIER SITES AND FORD ASSEMBLY PLANTS IS REQUIRED (50-75%) You may not check every box, or your experience may look a little different from what we've outlined, but if you think you can bring value to Ford Motor Company, we encourage you to apply! This position is a salary grade 5 and ranges from $65,100-$109,300. This position is a salary grade 6 and ranges from $74,300-$124,500. This position is a salary grade 7 and ranges from $86,600-$144,900. This position is a salary grade 8 and ranges from $99,100-$166,200. Final determination of salary grade will be based on candidate's skills and experience, and base salary will be set within the applicable range according to job scope, responsibility and competitive market value.
