City of Hope's growing national system includes its Los Angeles campus, a network of clinical care locations across Southern California, a new cancer center in Orange County, California, and cancer treatment centers and outpatient facilities in the Atlanta, Chicago and Phoenix areas.The successful candidate:Involved in the assessment, planning, and care of patients who undergo diagnostic, interventional, and therapeutic procedures. Provides nursing support to technologists in all radiology modalities as needed.Coverage for 24hrs/week, multiroom IR/CT/MRITelemetry - Recognize cardiac arrhythmias and institute appropriate interventions.Knowledge of appropriate anatomy, particularly peripheral anatomy.Knowledge of coronary and peripheral blood vessels and blood flow (venous and arterial).Completion of Chemotherapy HealthStream bundle before completion of nursing orientation.Administer medications via all routes, using the 6 rights, medication bar scanner and monitoring patient for side effects.Ability to collect blood specimens and blood cultures.Administer and monitor blood products safely.Ability to care for patients with IV lines, central lines and ports.Administers and monitors patients undergoing sedation/analgesia per physician order and hospital protocol.Responsible and accountable for providing nursing leadership to non-licensed staff as demonstrated by prescribing and coordinating nursing care for optimum patient outcomes.Knowledge of interventional, and non-interventional, radiologic procedures to include proper techniques, symptom management, complication intervention, anesthesia documentation, and consequent nursing interventions to include basic radiation safety techniques.QualificationsYour qualifications should include:1 year experience in ICU, ED, or PACUAssociate Degree in Nursing or equivalentArizona Registered Nurse License or a Registered Nurse License form a Compact StateBasic Life Support (BLS) Certification- an approved American Heart Association (AHA) training site, American Safety & Health Institute, or Red Cross BLS certification is required upon hire and renewal every two years. If their current certification does not meet the guidelines, employees will have (30) days from the date of hire to attend an onsite initial BLS course and will be required to renew every two years.Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) Certification- Employees will have thirty (30) days from the date of hire to acquire American Heart Association (AHA) ACLS certification and will need to be renewed every two years.
