Join our team and align yourself with an industry leader.Who we are looking for:We are currently searching for a MFG Setup Technician to be based out of Kokomo, IN reporting to the Maintenance Supervisor. This person will be responsible for the setup of production machines based on manufacturing machine scheduling.What you’ll do:Responsible to conduct themselves in a manner consistent with a company mission statement, core values, and other standards of conductPerform necessary pre-operation activities to ensure proper equipment startup and operation on multiple pieces of equipment Must be able to work 8-10 hours shift and overtimeAssists team members with technical issues and troubleshootingOperate/monitor multiple pieces of equipment during operation to ensure quality production and minimal unplanned stops Perform Tool and Die changes for all machinesEnsure all processes are carried out with the required use of safety controls and PPE Cross train in different areas of the shop as required Perform necessary pre-operation activities to ensure proper equipment startup and operation on multiple pieces of equipment Reading and interpreting blueprints Communicate with team members and support teams to ensure continuous production of the correct product at high-quality levels with minimal wasted time and materials Accurately setup and log changeovers to communicate and prep between shiftsEnsure all operating procedures, and PPE requirements are being followedParticipate in problem-solving with run rate achievementsStandard work training, 5S, lean sustainment, and problem-solvingSupport and actively participate in the continuous improvementTrack and analyze data and implement changes for improving plant operationsParticipate in Lean Daily Manufacturing and 5S activities and promotes the plant Lean cultureAll other duties as assignedWhat you'll bring:High School Diploma or GED requiredExperienced with machine setup and operationExperience in steel manufacturing is strongly preferredKnowledge of production proceduresAbility to read blueprints/shop drawings, schematics, and manuals is preferredForklift certification is strongly preferredPossess strong written and verbal communication skillsMechanical aptitudeAbility to multitaskHandle heavy equipmentWork independently or as a teamTroubleshooting skillsPossess excellent detail accuracy and organization skillsAll associates must embrace and foster an environment that supports our core values of Integrity, Respect, Excellence, Teamwork and Accountability Within 3 months, You’ll:Complete any required trainingBe experienced with machine setup and operationsBe well-versed in Atkore’s Business System
