Day Program Pod Leader-Creative Arts and Music
We are seeking passionate individuals interested in working with those who have intellectual and developmental disabilities in a group setting. If you have a musical talent that you can teach, we’d love to hear from you! This position will work closely with the Creative Arts Coordinator to support existing music programs and performances for The Enrichment Center Rock Band. Candidates with a background in music and performance are preferred.Key Responsibilities: Musical Instruction: Conduct individual and group lessons.Assessment: Evaluate the interests and abilities of participants to recommend suitable instruments.Group Rehearsals: Organize rehearsals, coaching members on their parts and ensemble performance.Performance Critique: Provide constructive feedback on performances to enhance techniques.Genre Variety: Teach a diverse range of musical genres.Equipment Knowledge: Maintain and manage musical and sound equipment.Community Engagement: Actively seek and participate in community involvement and outings.Documentation: Maintain class rosters, daily sign-in sheets, and documentation related to individual goals.Lesson Planning: Prepare lesson plans and establish course goals.Transportation: Provide transportation for individuals to outings and performances.Collaboration: Work as part of a team and confer with supervisors and caregivers to address concerns.Qualifications:Education: Associate’s Degree or relevant experience in music education or related field. Musical Talent: Proven ability in a musical discipline, with the ability to teach and engage others. Interpersonal Skills: High level of interpersonal skills to handle sensitive situations.Organization: Strong organizational skills and attention to detail. Communication: Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Adaptability: Flexibility to adapt to changing environments and client needs. Ethical Standards: Understanding of ethical behavior and business practices. Teamwork: Ability to work cooperatively with others to achieve organizational goals. Problem-Solving: Strong problem-solving skills to assess and address challenges effectively. Driver’s License: Valid driver’s license and acceptable DMV report; maintain updated auto insurance.
