Head Coach: Women's Lacrosse
ResponsibilitiesSaint Michael's College is seeking a Lacrosse Coach who will lead the program in a manner consistent with the mission, philosophy, and goals of the institution while fostering a safe, respectful, and inclusive environment for all student-athletes. The successful candidate will build a competitive program within the conference and overall schedule, emphasizing excellence in both individual and team academics, with a consistent minimum GPA of 3.0. Responsibilities include effective roster management in alignment with Title IX and budgetary guidelines, implementation of a comprehensive year-round training and development plan, and strategic coordination of recruiting and admissions efforts. The coach will demonstrate strong communication skills, maintain regular individual meetings with team members, and work collaboratively with athletics staff, admissions, and campus partners. Additional expectations include responsible budget oversight, community engagement, leadership in department initiatives, and active involvement in campus life and off-campus talent evaluation.Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:Plans and conducts practices during the season on a daily basisCoaches the team members during competition throughout the seasonProvides special opportunities for team members by fundraising for and participating in special trips (out of region spring training or international)Recruits prospects for the team throughout the yearMaintains database in ARMSArticulates Saint Michael's College mission and vision as neededCounsels student-athletes with a focus on personal developmentResponds to requests and inquiries specific to the program in a timely manner, from within the department and College as well as outsideEvaluates referees in a timely manner as requested by conference and supervisor of officialsManages and reconciles the coach-controlled team expensesAttends staff meetings and conference meetingsUnderstands and enforces department, College, and NCAA policies at all home athletic eventsFosters courteous, strong relations and service with all spectatorsParticipates in departmental and campus-wide learning opportunities to further develop awareness, skills, and knowledge in supporting and fostering inclusion and belonging for students and colleaguesSees the value of cultural, ethnic, gender, and other individual differences in people. May interpret documents to othersRegularly writes reports and correspondence.
