Summer Youth Employee

JOB PLACEMENTSummer Youth Employees 14 to 17 years old will be assigned a work area based on their interest. Department placement will be determined by FCP tribal member priority, placement availability, Summer Youth Employee interest, application submission date, how the Summer Youth Employee interviewed, and the discretion of the department supervisor the Summer Youth Employee interviewed with. Due to all spaces being filled there will NOT be any relocation.We do NOT allow immediate family members, such as siblings, parents, or legal guardians to be the direct supervisor of a Summer Youth Employee. This policy is in place to prevent conflicts of interest, favoritism, and potential disruptions in the workplace.Interviews will be conducted on June 9th. Location and time will be given prior to interview date.JOB PLACEMENT OPTIONS - please choose your potential work location from the following list.Caring PlaceCommunity Center - Day CareCommunity Center - MediaCommunity Center - RecreationCommunicationsComplianceCultureEducationFarmHealth & WellnessHousingITLanguageLand and Natural Resources (LNR)Rising Sun - Day CareSecuritySustainable FoodsEligibility Requirements To be eligible for the Summer Youth Employment Program, an individual must meet one of the following criteria: Age 14 years old - 17 years old and an enrolled Forest County Potawatomi Tribal member; or Age 14 years old – 17 years old and a Descendant. A “Descendant” is defined as:A lineal descendant of an enrolled Forest County Potawatomi member who does not meet the eligibility requirements for enrollment with the Forest County Potawatomi Community; andWho provides documentation to prove that the individual lineally descends from an ancestor who is or was a member of the Forest County Potawatomi Community; or Age 14 years old – 17 years old and a Community Member. A “Community Member” is defined as an individual who:Has legal ties to a Forest County Potawatomi Tribal Member (i.e. Marriage, Foster, Adoption, Guardian or stepparent); and Lives on the Forest County Potawatomi Tribal Reservation or Trust land. No applicants will be accepted after June 8th, 2026. Any student who is credit deficient will be required to attend summer school in person to make up any missing credits.
