Our mission-driven team is seeking a bold and dynamic Suits Verification and Validation Engineer to support Extra-vehicular Activities (EVA) Systems Engineering and Integration who is fueled by high ownership, execution horsepower, growth mindset, and driven to understand our world, science/technology, and life itself, for the benefit of all on Earth and beyond.Position SummaryWe are looking for an energetic and dynamic Suits Test Engineer (SME) who will primarily be responsible for leading major testing campaigns for the AxEVA System. This position reports to EVA Systems Engineering and Integration Manager. This role is onsite and will be based at our Gemini facility.Key Duties & ResponsibilitiesPlan, coordinate, and implement spacesuit verification and validation activities, including:Defining system, subsystem, and component verification approachesDefining verification requirementsAllocating verifications to verification activitiesPlanning and coordinating implementation of activitiesDraft closure notice to perform verification close-outDefine and manage integrated Verification & Validation (V&V test plans, procedures, and schedules across all engineering teams.Define and coordinate verification requirements for suppliers as part of the integrated V&V plan.Collaborate with spacesuit system and subsystem engineers, program office personnel, and customers for V&V planning, scheduling and execution.Prepare test plans and presentations for peers, management, and external customers and partners.Capture evidence from completed verification activities to create verification closure notices and coordinate requirement close-out.Perform other systems engineering tasks as necessary. QualificationsThe requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.Education & ExperienceBachelor’s Degree in an engineering (aerospace, electrical, mechanical, or related discipline).A minimum of 9+ years engineering experience with a minimum of 3 years in Testing, V&V or a combined equivalent combination of education and experience.Experience in the full verification life cycle from concept, to planning, coordination, execution, and close-out activities.Experience with NASA human spaceflight programs desired, with related experience in the testing of spacecraft, spacesuits, space vehicles. Experience with Space Suits is preferred.A strong attention to detail while appreciating the bigger picture of complex and ambitious projects.Excellent writing and presentation skills with experience communicating to senior decision-makers and technical audiences.Experience in Start-up organizations a plus.INCOSE CSEP preferred.Core SkillsExecutes priorities with precision and paceHigh EQ and ability to collaborate within teams and cross-functionallyTech-savvy in using systems and tools to move faster and smarterExcellent written and verbal communication skillsSupport Agile development, architecture, and scrum implementation, using Jira, JAMA, and ConfluenceCore CompetenciesEmbody our core values of leadership, innovation, and teamwork.
