Director/VP - LIHTC Underwriting (NY or Remote)

LIHTC EXPERIENCE ESSENTIAL. The Director/VP - LIHTC Underwriting will lead the underwriting and financial analysis of Low-Income Housing Tax Credit (LIHTC) investments, ensuring compliance with industry standards and regulations. This role requires a strategic thinker with a strong background in property underwriting and a deep understanding of LIHTC programs. LIHTC experience is essential to this role! Description Oversee the underwriting process for LIHTC investments, ensuring compliance with program regulations and internal policies. Evaluate financial models, market analysis, and development budgets to assess investment feasibility. Collaborate with internal teams to structure deals and ensure alignment with company goals. Prepare and present investment recommendations to senior management and investment committees. Maintain relationships with developers, investors, and other stakeholders in the property industry. Monitor project performance and address any compliance or financial issues that may arise. Stay informed about industry trends, regulatory changes, and best practices in the LIHTC sector. Provide mentorship and guidance to junior team members, fostering a culture of collaboration and professional growth. Profile A successful Director/VP - LIHTC Underwriting should have: Expertise in LIHTC programs and related regulations. Strong national affordable housing exposure with a nework of developers, non-profits, banks and syndicators. Some syndication experience would be ideal for this position in addition to strong underwriting anf closing skills. Strong analytical skills and experience with financial modeling in the property industry. Proven ability to manage complex underwriting processes and make sound investment decisions. Excellent communication and presentation skills to work effectively with stakeholders. Leadership qualities that promote team collaboration and development.
