Job Description:Parochial School Tutor - Xavier High School - Part time - 15 hours per weekBroad Function:The Parochial School Tutor provides tutoring services to students attending one of Middletown's three parochial schools. Bachelor's degree and certification in special education required.Responsibilities and Duties:Supports students in developing skills related to goals and objectives in the Individual Service Plan (ISP), including reading, writing, math, and study/organizational skillsActively participates in ISP meetingsDevelops goals and objectivesEnters information into CT SEDS systemCollects data and report progressCommunicates with students/parents/teachers/school staff regarding student needsCommunicates with Department of Student Services and Special EducationQualifications and Experience:Bachelor's Degree requiredSpecial education certification required5 years experience as a special education teacher requiredAbility to develop and maintain a good rapport with students and a personable relationship with teachersAbility to understand and support students with high school level curriculum/assignmentsAbility to carry out directions in both oral and written formSalary & Compensation:* $31.93 Per Hour; No Benefits; 15 Hours per weekThe physical demands and environmental characteristics described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
