Dietetic Technician Float
The Float Diet Technician works closely with clients, their families, and staff (registered dietitians, therapists, culinary services, and frontline team members). Acts as liaison for the registered dietitian and culinary services to support the execution of registered dietitian prescribed diet orders/meal plans. Utilizes knowledge of nutrition principals to provide basic nutrition education to clients and culinary services. Assists the registered dietitian and provides basic culinary support as needed.
Compensation Range:
Dietetic Technician: $15.96 - 25.58/hr
Final compensation offered will be within pay range based on qualifications/experience met for position. Float positions include a 10% Float Premium Pay Differential to the base compensation rate.
Schedule:
Full Time, 1.0 FTE (40hrs/wk)
Schedule developed around site programming hours of 7:30am - 6:00pm during the week and can include weekends when site has a coverage need.
Float positions are designed to provide coverage to support programs at Residential and Outpatient levels of care and scheduling flexibility is required to be able to adjust schedule to cover day and/or evening programs.
How Dietetic Technician Float's Empower Recovery
Collaborates with registered dietitian(s) and culinary services regarding meal and programming schedule and to ensure all diet orders/dietary restrictions/dietary needs prescribed by the registered dietitian are accurately accommodated.
Coordinates the day-to-day ordering of Accanto catered meals as well as external meal purchases.
Communicates all diet orders, allergies/food intolerances and dietary accommodations to the culinary team and assists culinary team with managing dietary accommodations.
Partners with the culinary team in executing production of individualized client trays per the tray ticket system. Supports plating and serves meals following facility health and safety protocols.
Completes food inventory and order for the site and/or client pantry as assigned; receives and stores food/meal orders in a manner consistent with food safety protocol per site set up.
Provides active meal coaching and support for clients in Therapeutic Supported Meals as assigned.
Plans, prepares, facilitates assigned nutrition groups and completes documentation of groups provided in the EHR.
Assists the dietitian in completing a variety of clinical tasks such as daily weight tracking, group preparation, meal plan compliance, and meal planning.
Supports the culinary team in maintaining the patient pantry with proper labeling of food items with allergy, dietary modification, and proper portioning language (i.e., exchanges, entrée and sides).
Provide coverage as needed.
Performs other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Associate degree in Dietetic Technology or a bachelor’s degree in Nutritional Science or Nutrition is required,
Must have a valid driver’s license and be authorized to drive.
One year of clinical or public health experience preferred.
Previous eating disorder experience is preferred.
Current Basic Life Support certification required (American Heart Association) within 30 days from date of hire.
ServSafe Food Handler certification required (Washington State Department of Health Food Handler permit required in leu of ServSafe Food Handler for Dietetic Technicians practicing in Washington)

Generous PTO plans: Paid Time off (PTO) is provided to all regular full time and part time regular employees up to

Holidays: Employees not working at a residential or inpatient facility are eligible for 7 paid holidays and 1 floating holiday Non-exempt employees working at a residential or inpatient facility will receive premium pay at a rate of double time if they are scheduled and work on one of ten designated holidays.
Employees hired on or after February 20, 2022, will receive premium pay at a rate of time and-a-half if scheduled and work on one of ten designated holidays.
Exempt employees working at a residential or inpatient facility who are scheduled to work on a holiday may take the holiday on a different day during the same pay period. Additionally, non-exempt employees are eligible or various shift and weekend differentials.
