Remote Staff Software Engineer

We're assisting an edtech startup with their search for a Staff Software Engineer. Their product is an AI-powered literacy/reading instruction platform for elementary educators. They are a remote company and open to candidates from anywhere in the United States.What you'll be doing:Building and iterating on the core product suite — prototyping, refining, and shipping new AI-powered literacy tools rapidlyTaking complex, cross-cutting features from prototype to production with thoughtful architecture and security decisionsImproving engineering systems and practices while maintaining a high-quality, easy-to-reason-about codebase at scaleCommunicating proactively with the small remote team to ensure alignment and coherence as you ship features end-to-endWhat you'll bring:5+ years of experience as a senior SWE with full-stack experience0-to-1 building experience; shipped end-to-end features and carried projects from idea to production readinessProficiency in TypeScript or Next.jsOwned substantial parts of a codebase, can handle large-scale projects without a detailed roadmapHigh-agency; can make meaningful progress without a detailed roadmapMission-driven; passionate about improve literacy nationwideFamiliar with Vercel deployment and serverless architectureFamiliar with modern web frameworksNice to have:Ed-tech experience, professional or academic; looking for mission-driven candidates
