Physician Assistant - TACS (PRN)
Position Summary We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Trauma Acute Care Physician Assistant to join our dynamic Trauma and Acute Care Surgery team. In this fast-paced role, you will provide exceptional care to patients with acute and critical injuries, working collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team in our busy Level III Trauma Center. The ideal candidate thrives under pressure, demonstrates advanced clinical skills, and is committed to delivering high-quality, patient-centered care.
Key Responsibilities
Manage trauma and emergency general surgery admissions and consults
Perform daily rounding on patients
Write progress notes and coordinate follow-up care
Efficiently plan and coordinate patient discharges
Perform procedures including central line placement and chest tube insertion
Collaborate closely with trauma surgeons, emergency physicians, and the broader healthcare team
Requirements
Completion of an accredited Physician Assistant program
Master's degree in Physician Assistant studies required
Active Maryland Physician Assistant license
National certification as a Physician Assistant (NCCPA)
Minimum of 2 years of clinical experience in trauma, critical care, emergency, or acute care surgery (highly desirable)
Current BLS and ACLS certifications (AHA) required
Strong procedural skills and the ability to work effectively in a high-acuity, team-oriented environment
