Senior Director of Operations - Tropic Falls Waterpark & Theme Park

Position SummaryThe Senior Director of Operations – TF Waterpark & Theme Park will develop, prepare, and manage annual operating budgets that include park tickets, games, cabana sites, rental revenue projections, park operating hours, department operating expenses, supplies, payroll, training, and capital expenses.Duties and ResponsibilitiesDemonstrate leadership and commitment while promoting a productive, secure, and safe working environmentPromote good business practices with special focus on achieving the highest possible standards of safety, service excellence, and financial managementManage all departmental team members, full-time and part-time, in a professional and honest mannerConduct regular internal staff meetings with managers and key team membersOversee and lead the managers, supervisors, and team members of Ride Operations, Rides Maintenance, Aquatics, Aquatics Maintenance, Guest Services, and Games to ensure adherence to all company policies and proceduresRecruit, hire, train, support, coach, and counsel staff on issues, professional development, and challengesKnow regulatory, health code, industry, and company safety standards and policies to ensure adherence by all employeesAct as primary point of contact during critical operational issues or emergenciesDevelop and implement park ticket models, including season passes, daily tickets, and special offers to achieve profitability, continued attendance, and revenue growth; collaborate with Marketing, Sales, and Events on development and implementation of ticket programsLead all revenue management functionsPartner closely with all OWA Parks & Resorts departments, ensuring cohesive operations between Tropic Falls at OWA Theme Park & Waterpark and OWA Parks & Resort businesses, departments, and executive teamDevelop and manage a preventative and ongoing maintenance program to minimize downtime, maximize efficiency, and service excellenceMaintain professional relationships with ride manufacturersManage all aspects of department budgets to achieve profitability, including developing annual budgets, justification, inventory control, monthly forecasting, and expense approval processesKeep the Property Manager and executive management team informed of financial and operational achievements/issues for the theme park/water parkRegularly review and analyze reports for ride downtime, ride inspections, throughput, internal/external audits, incidents, and Guest comments; provide feedback, corrective actions, or recommendations for improvementsReport theme/water park results in a timely manner, including monthly reports to the Property Manager and executive management teamProvide support and management for capital improvement and construction projects working with the Property Manager and Finance ControllerManage the commissioning of new rides and attractions in cooperation with manufacturersRepresent the company in a professional manner, building strong relationships with Guests, community leaders, vendors, contractors, partners, and team members; attend major events and functions as the company representativePerforms other duties as assignedRequired QualificationsBachelor's degree in business administration, hospitality management, or business managementMinimum of ten years' experience in the attractions, theme park, or water park industry with at least three years serving in a senior ride and/or aquatics management roleDirect experience in operating theme/water park rides and attractionsFamiliarity with ASTM, OSHA, state regulations, health code, and other safety and workplace standardsFamiliarity and experience with Jeff Ellis & Associates and International Ride Training LLC training and operating standards is preferredFamiliarity with water quality standards; Certified Pool Operator or equivalent is preferredStrong experience in the management of all revenue sources and dynamic pricing modelsFamiliarity and experience with the development and implementation of theme/water park ticketing modelsFamiliarity and experience with maintenance and capital construction projects is preferredComprehensive command of the English language - oral and writtenProficient in Microsoft Outlook, Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, Microsoft PowerPoint, or similarAdvanced organizational and communication skillsMust be willing and available to regularly work on-site, fulfilling odd or irregular hours including nights, weekends, and holidaysAbility to comply with all other requirements as specified within the management level OWA Personnel Policies and Procedures HandbookAble to perform physical tasks for extended periods, including standing, walking, bending, and lifting twenty (15) pounds unassisted and forty (40) pounds with assistanceAble to work in sunny, hot, humid, cold, windy, and rainy conditionsAbility to adequately and successfully perform all duties and responsibilities of this positionJ-18808-Ljbffr
