Expected to work 35-40 hours per week with overtime availability. Position works closely with other seasonal and full-time staff to achieve the operational goals of the airport. Any overtime hours are paid at straight pay.Under supervision of the Operations Manager and Airport Director, coordinates use of airport facilities in accordance with established policies and procedures. Maintains airport compliance with Federal Aviation Regulation (FAR) Part 139, Transportation Security Regulation (TSR) Part 1542 and all other applicable statutes, regulations and requirements and provides for the safety and security of all airport users. Represents airport during assigned shift. Position works well within a team and supports the goals, mission, and vision of the Gulf Shores International Airport to provide world-class customer service.Essential Job FunctionsOversees all airport operations during assigned shift, to provide for the safety and security of the public, tenants, and airport staff. Ensure smooth terminal operations via managing traffic flow, passenger movements, and interacting with guests to provide information and solve problemsEnsures that all airport operations comply with FAR Parts 77 and 139, TSR Part 1542, and other applicable federal, state and local statutes and regulations.Ensures tenant compliance with lease and operating permit requirements.Ensures contractor compliance with safety and security provisions of contract documents and applicable regulations through direction and/or enforcement.Assists in coordinating and monitoring airport construction activitiesPerforms administrative functions such as answering telephones, filing reports, and performing office work and fingerprintingDocuments adherence to policies and procedures and reports violations and suspected violations through incident reports.Conducts periodic, daily and as necessary continuous inspections of runways, taxiways and other airport facilities to identify and document damage, deterioration, debris, and other unsafe or non-compliant conditions.Minimum Qualifications RequiredEducation and Experience:Bachelor's degree in Aviation/Airport Management, Business Administration preferred, but not required.Previous work experience or coursework in aviation, airport management, or business administration preferred, but not requiredHigh School Education RequiredCandidate must be able to pass required FBI fingerprint-based criminal history record check in addition to pre-hire and random drug and alcohol screenings.Licenses and Certifications:• Necessary: Valid Driver's LicenseAdditional Position InformationIMPORTANT JOB FUNCTIONS:Agent will spend majority of the time in position working in the airport terminal as an extension of our full-time operations team. Position will be required to manage traffic flow on the curb and access roads and staff the airport communications center. Candidate will frequently interact, inform, and engage with passengers and terminal users to solve problems and maintain smooth operations.Manage and oversee the airport security and CCTV system. Attend to alarms, investigate security issues, and review video as directed by airport management.Coordinates safety and security measures with airport tenants, the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA), Transportation Security Administration (TSA), and state and county public safety and emergency response agencies.Monitors and ensure safe vehicle operations on movement and non-movement areas.Assist full-time operations team in effort to perform and schedule badging appointmentsAssumes primary responsibility for wildlife control procedures and ensures compliance with the Authority's Wildlife Hazard Management Plan and applicable state and federal regulations.Closes or places restrictions on airport operating areas to ensure operational safety.Represent airport authority in absence of managementIssues notices to air missions (NOTAMs) to report all conditions that impact safe operations of aircraft and ensure that they are promptly communicated to the FAA, air carriers and other airport users.Assists in planning and coordinating use of facilities for dignitary visits and other special events.Enforces compliance with the airport rules and regulations and the airport security program.Performs other duties as assignedMental and Physical Abilities:Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with a variety of people.Ability to read and comprehend instructions, routine correspondence and memos.Ability to understand and carry out oral and written instructions.Working Conditions:Work is performed both indoors and outdoors.
