Remote Process & Operations Engineering Expert - AI Trainer
Mercor is partnering with leading AI labs to advance frontier agent evaluations in process and operations engineering.
Location: Remote (United States or Canada).
What you'll do
As a Process & Operations Engineering Expert, you will build long-horizon ops-engineering tasks that mirror the work you already do, each paired with a deterministic rubric that grades agent performance against verifiable ground truth. Tasks must have checkable answers; no open-ended essays or subjective judgment calls.
Responsibilities
Build scenarios across the following domains:
Process documentation: process flow diagrams and SOPs with required steps and control points.
Analysis: yield and quality analyses with ground-truth defect rates, root-cause investigations with a documented correct cause.
FMEA and improvement work: FMEAs against a failure-mode checklist, Six Sigma write-ups with verifiable statistical outputs.
These scenarios will be challenging and require long sessions of focused work.
Qualifications
BS or MS in Industrial, Manufacturing, or Mechanical Engineering; 3+ years in process, operations, or manufacturing engineering.
Expertise in one or more of the following: Lean, Six Sigma (Green or Black Belt), SPC, FMEA, root cause methodology (5 Whys, fishbone, 8D).
Comfortable reading and producing ops-engineering artifacts such as process flows, SOPs, FMEAs, project charters, and kaizen reports.
Clear written communication; able to articulate reasoning step by step and encode it into deterministic rubrics.
Based in the United States or Canada.
Compensation
$75–$100 per hour depending on domain depth and prior experience. Strong contributors are promoted based on task quality and throughput.
