Director of Operations

Job Description:Insight Global's client is hiring a Director of Operations to lead carrier procurement, brokerage operations, and people management for a growing logistics operation. This is a hands-on leadership role for someone who can step in and make an immediate impact.Preferred Experience: Strong transportation & logistics backgroundBrokerage and carrier procurement experience is criticalExperience with open deck, drayage, OD/OG, or heavy haulBackground in 3PL or freight brokerage (TQL, RXO, Arrive Logistics, Ryder, etc. a plus)Proven people leader who has managed managers and large teamsSomeone who can hit the ground running and lead without heavy trainingRole Responsibilities:Own the carrier procurement and brokerage operations for standard freight, open deck, drayage, and heavy haulLead and develop a team of 3–4 managers, with 35–40 total team membersOversee daily operations to ensure service, cost, and performance targets are metInterface directly with carriers and strengthen carrier relationshipsBring on new carrier partners and improve procurement strategyManage budgets, costs, and operational performanceEnsure teams are executing consistently and following best practicesSolve problems quickly and keep operations running smoothly
