naIdentifies server hardware, software and configurations necessary for running SQL server in an optimal fashionPerforms SQL database installation, configuration, patching and upgrades in a SOX compliant environmentInstalls, configures and integrates third party applications and tools as neededDevelop procedures for automated monitoring and proactive intervention, preventing customer impactConduct research and make recommendations on database products, services, protocols and standardsConfigure and optimize Solaris/AIX/Linux servers to support SQL databasesControl and monitor user access to databases and ensure regulatory and security complianceWork with application service owners and technical leads to ensure project and service deliverables are metResponsible for providing database expertise to project teams to maximize system availability, efficiency, and securityWork with development teams and 3rd party vendors throughout the development life cycle regarding optimal use of database resources and featuresResponsible for designing, building, testing and deploying database solutions for projectsCollaborates with all members of IT to ensure successful application and database implementationsFollow release management, change management and quality assurance standardsWork with Always On Availability Groups and other SQL Server HA configurationsResponsible for SQL Server security and permissionsAssumes ownership of database related problems; pursues problem resolution and root cause analysis.Responsible for opening, managing, escalating and resolving SRs with Microsoft SupportAssists vendor support services as well as IT team members to quickly resolve problemsMonitor and analyze database performance and make changes to optimize performanceResponsible for working with the development/support teams to optimize SQL statementsResponsible for solving production problems in a timely manner, including off hours and weekend support when necessaryWill be the subject matter expert on the supported applications and will provide support to the on call DBA as neededProvide 24x7 support and participate in on-call rotation as neededResponsible for validating the backup strategy and performing on demand backups and restoresDevelop new backup and recovery processes that leverage new techniques and technologyExperience scripting and automating solutions using Perl, Shell, PL/SQL, Python etcLearn and stay current on the features and functionality of OracleMaintains current knowledge of industry trends and standardsSpecialized Knowledge/Skills –Must have hands on experience administering SQL Server 2008 and aboveMust have expert knowledge of Architecture and ConceptsMust have experience optimizing database solutions for multi-terabyte databasesMust have good knowledge of SQL Server backup and recovery scenariosMust have good knowledge of cross platform database migrationsMust have good knowledge of related Tools and UtilitiesMust have experience optimizing SQL and PL/SQLMust have experience writing scripts using Perl and/or ShellMust have experience in working with Always On Availability GroupsOracle and/or Postgresql experience are nice to havenaPosting Date:01/21/2021Department: -
