Design Intern

SARANKCO is seeking full-time, paid interns to join our Student Internship Program this summer. Interns will participate in various stages of digital, print, and copywriting projects from concept through execution. They should be prepared to work in a fast-paced, high-performance, collaborative environment, and will gain broad experience across several industries and communication channels.The SARANKCO Student Internship Program offers opportunities to learn from and interact with the following departments: Digital and Print Design, Copywriting, Strategy, Production, Project Management, Operations, and Senior Leadership. Mentors will work closely with our interns to ensure a successful and valuable experience that will include exposure to typical client work as well as special projects.ABOUT THIS OPPORTUNITYSARANKCO: Creative Studio is searching for a design intern with an outstanding portfolio of work that spans print design, branding, packaging, digital design, motion graphics, and social. We are looking for someone who is detail-oriented, is self-motivated, has a can-do attitude and curious spirit, and is eager to learn. This role also requires strong communication skills as they will frequently collaborate with other designers, copywriters, strategists, developers, project managers, and senior leaders. Most of the summer will be spent collaborating on an external brand project, partnering directly with a non-profit organization to develop real-world marketing and branding assets — the goal is to provide meaningful support to philanthropic work while giving interns a hands-on, portfolio-worthy experience solving real business challenges.Throughout the summer, interns work alongside our senior creative team as apprentices, learning by doing. They’re guided and mentored every step of the way, while also taking ownership of the relationship with their nonprofit partner. At the end of the summer, they can expect to have gained some impressive portfolio pieces and three months of professional experience in a fast-paced agency environment.QUALIFICATIONSCurrently pursuing or recently completed a BFA, MFA, or similar in a design-related disciplineUndergraduate candidates should be rising juniors or seniorsPursuing a career in a creative services field such as design, advertising, marketing, or communicationsWorking knowledge of Sketch, InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator, After Effects, Dreamweaver, HTML, CSS, JavaScript, PowerPoint, and KeynoteFamiliarity with Figma, WordPress, and other design software is a plusKnowledge of UI/UX, web design, and social media techniques and trendsEducated in branding and visual identity, with strong typography, color theory, and composition foundationBasic knowledge of print design and production methods — creating specifications for paper stock, inks and varnishes, folding structures, plastics, etc.Ability to persuasively present ideas and discuss their strategic approachShares and receives direction well and demonstrates excellent time-management skillsSelf-motivated and ambitious, hungry for opportunities, and passionate about designLocated in NYC during the summer months, and available to work both in-person and remote as neededROLE + RESPONSIBILITIESLead on the design-related aspects of the summer intern project, collaborating with the other interns to complete the assignment before the end of the summerSupport the efforts of the creative team to collaborate on innovative projects through solid brand strategy across all clients and verticalsAssist with the design and development of identity programs, email marketing campaigns, web pages, mobile applications, print collateral, and packaging for premium brands and servicesHelp prepare perfectly crafted creative materials and presentation decks that align with client objectives and embody studio best practicesPresent design work and ideas thoughtfully and persuasively, both internally to project teams and externally to our clientsParticipate in all team meetings and brainstorming sessions, actively contributing to the conversationCOMPENSATION + BENEFITSThis is a full-time, paid internship that will work partially in-person at our NYC studio for a duration of 10–12 weeks over the summer between June and August 2026, at a compensation rate of $20/hour.
