Site Reliability Engineering Manager
Job Description:We’re looking for a strategic and detail-oriented SRE Project Manager (SPM) to lead security-focused initiatives across development, security, SRE, and cloud engineering teams. You will drive project planning, backlog management, sprint execution, and postmortems specifically related to security goals such as vulnerability remediation, compliance audits, secure infrastructure changes, and incident response.As the security-focused SPM, you’ll coordinate cross-functional collaboration, manage Jira workflows, track compliance progress (including SOX and SOC 2), and evangelize security best practices through meetings and documentation. You will be the central point of contact helping teams maintain visibility and momentum on security work while continuously improving processes, tooling, and automation to reduce toil and enhance security workflows.Key Responsibilities:Lead project planning, backlog refinement, sprint execution, and postmortem ceremonies for security-related initiatives across development, security, and SRE teams.Coordinate cross-functional alignment with Development, Security, SRE, and Cloud Engineering partners on tasks such as vulnerability remediation, compliance audits, access control, and secure infrastructure changes.Drive compliance efforts for frameworks such as SOX and SOC 2, working with Security and Engineering leaders to define scope, track progress, and provide transparent updates.Manage Jira hygiene and workflows to ensure security tickets are well-defined, estimated, assigned, and properly linked to Epics, Themes, and organizational priorities.Track and report on security compliance, risk mitigation, and cost-focused initiatives using dashboards, Confluence documentation, and regular status updates.Facilitate regular team ceremonies and leadership reviews, ensuring meetings are focused, data-driven, and outcome-oriented.Evangelize security priorities by coordinating and co-hosting monthly security meetings with program and SRE leadership.Support compliance, access control, and decommissioning efforts across cloud and on-prem systems, emphasizing security best practices.Identify patterns and areas of opportunity for automation, documentation, and tooling improvements to enhance security workflows and reduce manual follow-up.Maintain and contribute to shared documentation and knowledge management within Security, SRE, and Cloud Center of Excellence spaces.Collaborate with leadership and stakeholders to adapt processes and priorities as needed for continuous improvement.Must haves:4+ years of experience in technical program or project management with a strong focus on security initiatives within software engineering, infrastructure, or SRE teams.Proven ability to manage security-focused projects including vulnerability remediation, compliance audits, and secure infrastructure changes.Skilled at analyzing security compliance and risk data to inform decisions and communicate effectively with both technical teams and executives.Hands-on experience improving security workflows through automation, documentation, and tooling enhancements.Strong understanding of Agile/Scrum principles and Jira/Confluence best practices (e.g., Dashboards, JQL, Macros).Familiarity with cloud-native technologies (e.g., AWS, Kubernetes, ECS, Terraform) and security tooling such as vulnerability scanners, compliance monitoring, and IAM systems.Experience with observability, alerting, and incident response tools (e.g., Datadog, New Relic, PagerDuty) related to security event monitoring.Exceptional organizational, communication, and collaboration skills, with high attention to detail and follow-through.Nice to HaveExperience working in highly regulated industries.
