Senior Communications Consultant
Milltown PartnersOur clients operate at the frontiers of innovation - we advise technology companies driving change, global investors funding the future, the giants of sport and entertainment, and influential individuals on the communications and policy challenges that define their reputations. Our work spans corporate and financial communications, policy and public affairs to engage regulators and policymakers, policy communications and leadership communications. We underpin the full breadth of our capabilities with research-driven insights and campaigns. We're also pioneering AI-enhanced advisory work for both our clients and internal innovation, using technology to unlock insights from data at unprecedented scale and speed. The roleSenior Consultants are the driving force behind our client work. You'll be a trusted adviser who takes ownership of outcomes, not just outputs. You'll help to set strategy, lead the execution of significant communications moments, manage and develop junior colleagues, and build the kind of client relationships where your judgement is sought and trusted. This is a hands-on role. You'll be expected to operate with genuine autonomy – drawing on your experience to guide client teams, identify the right approach for complex challenges, and push the quality of our work to a higher standard. One week you might be advising a technology platform on how to respond to new AI regulation. The next you could be developing a media strategy for a global investor ahead of a major transaction announcement. The common thread is that clients will rely on your judgement, and you'll deliver work that exceeds their expectations. What you'll doShape reputation strategyYou'll partner with your project leadership team to set the strategic direction for client work - identifying how best to position clients, which audiences matter most, and which channels will deliver results. You'll create integrated communications plans that guide execution and ensure all tactics connect to a clear strategic objective. You'll interrogate client briefs, design research briefs, and challenge assumptions where necessary – bringing your own perspective, not just delivering what's asked.Advise with strategic judgement and authorityYou'll be a trusted point of contact for clients – providing recommendations in meetings, in writing, and in the moments when quick and sound judgement matters most. You'll produce compelling written content and drive the execution of significant communications moments: media briefings, speeches, owned-channel campaigns, events. You'll read widely, stay across industry news and client challenges, and develop informed perspectives on issues ranging from regulatory shifts to competitive dynamics.Drive and deliver client workYou'll manage the work of junior colleagues, creating clear project plans, delegating effectively, demonstrating agility to ensure work is delivered on time and to a high standard. Getting things done well - and supporting others to do the same - is central to the role.Use AI to drive better outcomesYou'll use AI tools regularly in your daily work to improve the quality and efficiency of what you deliver. This means leveraging tools like Claude, Gemini, and our internal AI studio to conduct research, generate insights, and produce analysis at scale and speed. You'll contribute to how we share knowledge about AI across the team and help ensure all outputs meet our quality standards.Contribute to business developmentYou'll understand how clients generate revenue and ensure our advice supports their business objectives. You'll contribute to how Milltown operates and thrives – whether that's improving team efficiency, identifying new ways to help clients, or using your expertise to unlock opportunities. Restlessness about finding better ways to work is part of our culture.Build a collaborative environmentYou'll give and receive feedback regularly, actively seek input from colleagues at all levels, and demonstrate allyship to everyone on the team.
