If you thrive on ensuring top-tier standards in meat processing and want to make a real impact in a close-knit, values-driven company, this is your opportunity.What You'll Do – Key ResponsibilitiesAs QA Manager, you'll report to the Director of Quality and lead our QA and Hygiene teams to maintain the highest levels of food safety, quality, and compliance in our sausage production operations.Lead Quality & Food Safety Excellence — Develop, implement, and continuously improve QA, hygiene, and food safety programs (including HACCP, GMPs, and SQF systems) to exceed regulatory, customer, and company standards.Manage & Develop Your Team — Hire, train, mentor, and evaluate QA and hygiene staff; foster a culture of accountability, safety, and continuous improvement.Drive Compliance & Audits — Serve as the key contact for USDA, SQF, customer, and third-party audits/inspections; stay ahead of regulatory changes and ensure swift adaptation.Monitor & Optimize Processes — Oversee production to uphold quality and hygiene standards; lead root cause analysis, implement corrective/preventive actions, and reduce deviations.Handle Documentation & Insights — Maintain precise records, analyze quality metrics, and deliver actionable reports to leadership.Collaborate Cross-Functionally — Partner with Operations, R&D, Supply Chain, and Procurement to align on safety/quality goals, support new product launches, resolve supplier issues, and deliver employee training.Champion Innovation — Leverage digital tools (Redzone, ERP systems, etc.) to streamline processes and drive efficiency.What We're Looking For – QualificationsBachelor's degree in Food Science, Microbiology, Chemistry, or a related field (preferred).5+ years of hands-on experience in food manufacturing QA/QC, with at least 2 years in a leadership/managerial role.Experience in meat or sausage production is strongly preferred.Certifications such as HACCP and/or SQF Practitioner (or equivalent) highly desirable.Proficiency in quality management systems, statistical process control, root cause analysis, Microsoft Office, Redzone (or similar compliance software), and ERP systems.Eagerness to learn and optimize digital tools for process innovation.Proven leadership skills to motivate and develop teams.Bilingual fluency in English and Spanish (written and verbal) — essential for effective communication across our diverse team and stakeholders.Exceptional attention to detail, problem-solving ability, and cross-functional collaboration skills.Working Environment & What We OfferThis is an on-site role in our Hawthorne, NJ facility within a food manufacturing setting (exposure to temperature variations, machinery noise, and raw meat handling).
