Title: Builder Risk Consultant Reports to: Director of Field OperationsLocation: Southern California, Colorado, Florida and Various locationsFLSA Status: ExemptSalary Range: $75,000+ depending on experience Position SummaryThe Builder Risk Consultant (BRC) serves as a Quality Assurance and Quality Control (QA/QC) specialist for both construction and insurance stakeholders. This role is responsible for working directly with the developer’s onsite management to evaluate construction practices and ensure compliance with local building codes, manufacturer installation instructions, and approved plan specifications. The BRC operates with independent discretion and must demonstrate strong communication skills, technical construction knowledge, and a proactive approach to identifying and mitigating risk across project sites. Key Responsibilities· Conduct mandated and non-mandated inspections across active construction sites· Perform detailed peer reviews to assess risk, compliance, and workmanship; deliver written reports upon completion· Coordinate directly with clients to schedule inspections within agreed timelines· Evaluate project-specific conditions and tailor inspection scope accordingly· Conduct follow-up inspections as needed to verify completion and compliance· Prepare comprehensive final reports and manage all client communications· Monitor and adhere to project budgets and client expectations Qualifications· 3–5+ years of experience in construction inspection or related field· ICC B-1 Certification· Proficient in construction practices and blueprint reading· Proficiency in industry standards · Proficient in software and office tools· Exceptional problem-solving and multitasking abilities· Clear and professional written and verbal communication skills· Personable, reliable, and client-focused demeanor Additional Information· Eligible for reimbursement of approved expenses and IRS-standard mileage· $60/day per diem for meals during travel· Role may require travel and work across various U.S. locations Physical Requirements· Ability to lift 50 lbs. and operate inspection equipment· Frequent sitting, standing, climbing, bending, and reaching· Must be able to drive between multiple job sites
