Sr. SQL DeveloperRemote Position- Only EST/CST ConsultantsJob Description:We have had a SQL Server Developer working at SEI Investments for past year and he decided to pursue another opportunity. We are looking to backfill. This team is picky a bit; in the sense that they need very strong SQL querying skills, advanced skills, creating SQL queries (complex) from scratch for an internal, custom built reporting system. They do not use an Enterprise Reporting Tool like Power BI or Tableau or similar. They do not do a lot of SSRS or anything. This is for a very experienced person with SQL querying (complex/advanced and authoring queries from scratch) and T-SQL.Required Skills:SQL Server - must be advanced with SQL querying and authoring SQL queries from scratch using T-SQL.Additional Skills:What we are not looking for: We are not looking for people too ETL heavy (they do no ETL in this role). We are not looking for someone who is too strong developer with lots of .Net and doing some SQL. We are not looking for Data Engineers who are moving data only.Job Description:8 or more years of related experience; or equivalent combination of education and experienceExperience with the full software development life cycle, including design, testing, deployment, and documentation activities (including agile and scrum patterns)Advance SQL development skills like:Creating complex queries and stored proceduresPerformance tune complex queries and query optimizationDeveloping Dynamic SQL and stored proceduresUsing indexes to speed up the SQL queriesExperience in creating database schemas that represent and support business processesExtensive knowledge and hands on experience designing and developing objects and components of relational and non-relational databaseExperience with SSRS report developmentFull Text SearchingDeveloping ERD – both physical and logicalStrong experience with Agile methodologiesKnowledge and understanding of SDLC, with a strong preference for Agile experienceSkill for writing reusable functions, views and database objectsExcellent written/verbal communication, presentation, and listening skillsExcellent collaboration/teamwork skillsUnderstanding of fundamental design principles for building a scalable applicationFamiliar with various design and architectural patternsNote: Candidates will be required to complete a Glider Assessment as first step in the interview process
