Junior CollegesElementary and Secondary SchoolsColleges, Universities, and Professional SchoolsAdministration of Human Resource ProgramsRooming and Boarding Houses, Dormitories, and Workers' CampsWellesley MAPart timeR0014662THE OPPORTUNITYThe Assistant Area Coordinator works directly with the professional Residence Life Staff, Resident Assistants, and on campus students and will provide support to the Area Coordinator in a particular residential area on campus.WHAT YOU WILL DOManage the day-to-day operations of a specific residence hall or residence halls of students living in college housing.Directly supervise and evaluate 5-7 Resident Assistants (RA).Assist with the overall development, planning, and implementation of programming pertaining to Residence Life's residential curriculum.Assist Area Coordinator with managing area budget.Participate in the administrator on-call rotation for approximately three weeksper semester and actively respond to a wide range of crises situations.Assist in the planning, development, and implementation of RA trainings, in- services, and RA selection via departmental committee structure.Serve as a student conduct hearing officer and hear cases as assigned byCommunity Standards.Assist with RA recognition efforts.Provide office support by working 5 hours per week at the front desk of theStudent Life Suite assisting with housing related projects.Liaise and collaborate with campus partners including Facilities, Wellness, and Student Conduct.Supports Housing Operations with move-inmove-outAttend weekly professional staff meetings (date and time TBD) and weekly student staff meetings from 4:30-6:30pm on Monday nights.Assume additional responsibilities as required.YOUR TEAM WILL INCLUDEResident AssistantsWHAT EDUCATION AND SKILLS YOU WILL NEEDBachelor's Degree required and must be a matriculated graduate student .Enrollment in a CSP, Counseling, or Higher Education Administration program preferred. Non-matriculated students engaged in appropriate coursework may be considered.Must demonstrate flexibility and adaptabilityDemonstrated ability to work collaboratively and autonomouslyMust possess excellent interpersonal and communication skillsMust maintain a positive attitude and represent the College and Department appropriatelyAbility to envision and propose new methods to perform tasks that supportET&A; take thoughtful risks; and accept new and ongoing initiatives, objectives, and solutions to gain sought-after results.Ability to anticipate and embrace change ; demonstrate willingness to achieve, acquire, and utilize new skills and challenging tasks; and is flexible in changing conditions.Must have strong technology skills including proficiency in Microsoft Office(Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint).HOW AND WHERE YOU WILL WORKWilling to work evening and weekends as required; live-on position; must serve on-call rotation.This is a live-on, 10-month (Monday, July 20, 2026 - Friday, May 21, 2027 (38 working weeks)), part time (14-20 hours per week) position within Babson College's Office ofResidence Life. Graduate student follows the break dates of their academic program (Thanksgiving break, winter break and spring break).This position includes an on-campus apartment (either individual or shared apartment) within a residence hall and a taxable meal plan. This position is for one academic year.ADDITIONAL SKILLS YOU MAY HAVEPrior residence life experience, a positive attitude and awareness of social justice principles are preferred.This is a non-exempt position with an hourly rate of $23.00.
