This is not a people management role. Instead, you'll remain hands-on while providing technical leadership, coordinating infrastructure changes, and serving as the primary technical interface with the client's managed service provider.This team is also executing a long-term mainframe modernization strategy, making this an opportunity to influence both the current platform and its future direction.What You'll Be DoingProvide technical leadership for the enterprise z/OS platform.Review, validate, and coordinate infrastructure changes with the managed service provider.Lead technical discussions during production incidents and planned maintenance activities.Perform root cause analysis and drive long-term corrective actions.Review infrastructure upgrades, maintenance, and platform sustainability initiatives.Support audit, security, and compliance activities across the mainframe environment.Partner with internal engineering teams to ensure infrastructure aligns with business priorities.What We're Looking ForHands-on experience as a z/OS Systems Programmer / Infrastructure Engineer.Strong experience with z/OS and enterprise mainframe infrastructure.Experience supporting technologies such as IMS, DB2, RACF, CICS, JCL, CA JobTrac, and related platform components.Experience coordinating infrastructure changes, production support, or vendor-managed environments.Strong troubleshooting and root cause analysis skills.Comfortable working directly with both technical and business stakeholders.Location: Fully RemoteDuration: Multi-Year ContractIf this sounds like something you'd be interested in, apply today or send me your updated resume, and I'd be happy to share additional details.
