CNC Programmer - Panavision Woodland Hills

About Panavision:The Panavision group supports filmmakers working on movies, television series, commercials, and beyond, providing: filmmaking equipment rentals for lenses, cinema cameras, grip, and lighting, stage facilities for filming, post-production services including dailies, visual effects, and final color grading and much more.Job Scope:  The CNC Mastercam Programmer is expected to have a comprehensive understanding of CNC machining and programming operations.  In this role, you will interface with machinist, leads, engineering teams, and machining operations management to increase productivity and optimize machining programs and procedures.Key Responsibilities:Supports machinists running 9 mills and 6 lathesDevelops and writes programs for CNC machines using engineering specifications and drawings within MasterCam SoftwareAnalyzes engineering drawings to define configuration of parts and determine type and sequence of machine operationsMake proper cutter selections for each part, taking into consideration such factors as speeds, types of cutters, feeds, and control system limitationsTests and modifies existing parts programs for engineering changes or program improvementsDevelops solutions to technical problems of limited scope, and completion of routine technical tasksSkills/Experience Required:At least 7-10+ years of programming and machining complex lathe and mill machine partsMasterCam X9 or higher programming proficiency needed along with 5 axis knowledgePro Engineer/Creo Cad Cam experience would be a plusAbility to read and follow instructions including blueprintsKnowledge of CNC machinery operations and set-upKnowledge of tooling, fixtures and measuring equipmentKnowledge of geometry and trigonometry conceptsStrong interpersonal skills to cooperate and work effectively with othersStrong communication skills, both verbal and writtenGood leadership skillsStrong organizational skillsAbility to multitaskAbility to work to close tolerancesAbility to remain flexible towards changes in scheduled duties dailyMust be able to regularly lift to 20 pounds, with occasional lifts of 50 poundsUnderstanding of health and safety requirements relating CNC operationsOther Duties:Please note this job description is not designed to cover or contain a comprehensive listing of activities, duties or responsibilities that are required of the employee for this job.
