Job Description:Respected manufacturer of grip equipment, lighting support, and camera support seeks new CNC Programmer / Operator for thriving machine shop. Serving equipment needs for motion picture, television, still photography, corporate videography, and YouTube is the company's primary goal; innovation and collaboration are at the forefront of what we do. The best ideas come from working Grips and Gaffers – and we prototype and fabricate their solutions in our machine shop located in Burbank, CA. The right candidate for this position will be capable of running multiple machines and supporting other CNC Machinist and Manual Machinist staff around you. You will interact regularly with the Engineering Manager to fabricate brand-new products and improve existing designs. You will determine workflow and priority work orders for all Machinist Staff as well as Deburr. POSITION FUNCTIONS:Programming tooling setup for CNC Mill (Haas)Read and perform G-codeProgramming language – fanuc-based/related softwareCapable of modifying and updating programs and toolsProviding first article ensures critical tolerance while machines are operatingKnowledge of speed and feed to apply to various types of materialRead blueprints, calculate dimensions, have mathematical skillsUse of inspection tools – micrometer, caliper, other standard toolsSet up all machine fixtures and tools for other CNC operators, quick inspection of critical dimensions for production runs from other operators in the department Schedule daily & weekly maintenance of machines, new & old fixtures, and new & old tools to operate machines smoothlyDESIRED QUALIFICATIONS:Minimum 5-10years hands-on experienceExperience leading a team a plusBasic excel and word skillsExcellent communication skillsThe job entails standing, sitting, squatting, lifting, and reaching.You should be proficient in:GD&TCNC ProgrammingCNC Machine Setup & ChangeoverMachines & technologies you'll use:CNC Mill (3-4 axis VMC)CNC Lathe (2-4 axis)CNC Mill (5+ axis VMC)CNC Lathe (5+ axis)
