Lead Software Engineer - Delivery Platform About the RoleOur client is looking for a hands-on Lead Software Engineer to help lead the technology behind post order and delivery experience. This person will serve as the technical lead for a team supporting delivery tracking, order visibility, and integrations with delivery partners such as DoorDash.We're looking for someone who enjoys both leading engineers and staying hands-on with development, helping drive technical decisions while partnering with product teams, vendors, and offshore resources.What You'll Be DoingLead the design and development of backend applications supporting delivery and order-tracking systems.Serve as the technical lead for an engineering team, including mentoring offshore developers and guiding technical decisions.Partner with third-party delivery providers and vendors, including DoorDash, to build and maintain critical integrations.Build and support APIs, microservices, and cloud-based applications using Java and Spring Boot.Collaborate with Product, Architecture, and Operations teams to deliver scalable solutions.Participate in code reviews, troubleshooting, and production support when needed.Help improve engineering processes, DevOps practices, and overall platform reliability.What We're Looking ForStrong experience with Java and Spring Boot development.Previous experience as a Lead Engineer, Technical Lead, Principal Engineer, or Senior Engineer with leadership responsibilities.Strong backend development experience, including APIs, integrations, and microservices.Experience working in AWS, Azure, GCP, or another cloud environment.Ability to lead technical discussions and coordinate work across offshore teams.Experience working with third-party vendors, partners, or external integrations.Understanding of DevOps, CI/CD, containerization, or cloud operations is a plus.Some frontend exposure is helpful, but this role is primarily backend focused.Nice to HaveExperience with delivery, logistics, ecommerce, retail, or transportation platforms.Experience integrating with providers such as DoorDash, Uber Eats, or similar partners.Knowledge of C++ or experience supporting hardware/tracking devices is a strong plus.Experience with real-time tracking, mapping, driver workflows, or location-based applications.What Success Looks LikeYou'll be successful in this role if you're a hands-on technical leader who can balance coding, architecture, team leadership, and partner integrations.
