Remote work may be considered. The successful candidate will support global mining projects and help our clients unlock potential by engineering safe, innovative, and sustainable solutions to complex challenges.A Career with Stantec Offers You:Support and mentorship from an experienced team of industry leadersGrowth opportunities and training customized to match your ambitionsInternal focus groups with like-minded individuals helping you pursue what motivates youA collaborative environment working with multi-disciplinary project teamsExposure to marquee projects of varying size and complexity across the globeFlexible working arrangements promoting work-life balanceCompetitive pay and benefitsOpportunities to connect with your community and join other Stantec employees in charitable and social eventsYour Key Responsibilities:Participate in the development of underground mining studies ranging in level of detailProvide expert mine planning support using your operations experience and Deswik Mine Planning softwareSupport due diligence and technical auditsAct as peer reviewer of drawings, specifications, mine planning, and technical reportsSupport the development of capital and operating cost estimatesLead project teams performing trade-off and optimization studies including but not limited to mine access, material handling, ventilation, and mining methodsDomestic and international travel with the possibility of extended stays may be required.Qualifications:Strong understanding of various underground hard rock mining methods and mine systems.Caving experience is plusExperience with implementation of new technologiesProficiency in Deswik Software Suite (CAD, Sched, IS, SO)Proficiency in compiling and presenting data (PowerBI, Excel, PowerPoint)Strong communication and critical thinking skillsExperience in working on a team of multiple engineering disciplinesBe a driver of safety in your project work and onsitePromote a positive and collaborative work cultureEducation and Experience:4+ years of relevant industry experienceDegree in Mining Engineering or equivalent from a recognized post-secondary institutionOperations experience in underground hard rock mining is requiredExperience in building new projects from the ground up in Deswik mine planning applications is requiredProfessional Engineer or SME Registered Member is a plus.Typical office environment working with computers.
