AI/ML Scientist

The company offers a high-ownership environment, where individuals can shape core technology and influence strategic direction while working in a flexible, remote-first setup.Role Description The AI/ML Scientist will design, develop, and evaluate machine learning models to solve complex problems in biotechnology and life sciences. Day-to-day responsibilities include exploring and cleaning datasets, building and validating predictive and generative models, performing statistical analyses, and documenting methodologies and results in a clear, reproducible manner. The role will collaborate with cross-functional partners (such as biologists, data engineers, and product leaders) to translate domain requirements into technical solutions and to prioritize experiments that deliver measurable impact. The AI/ML Scientist will also stay current with relevant research literature, prototype new algorithms, and contribute to the company’s long-term AI/ML strategy and infrastructure. This is a full-time, remote role.Qualifications Strong foundation in Computer Science, including algorithms, data structures, and software development practices.Expertise in Data Science and Statistics, including data preprocessing, model evaluation, and statistical inference.Proficiency in Pattern Recognition and machine learning techniques, such as supervised and unsupervised learning, and feature engineering.Demonstrated Research skills, including experimental design, literature review, and communicating findings to technical and non-technical audiences.Experience with Python or similar languages, and common ML frameworks (e.g., PyTorch, TensorFlow, scikit-learn).Background in biotechnology, computational biology, or related scientific domains is highly beneficial.Graduate degree (M.S. or Ph.D.) in Computer Science, Data Science, Statistics, Computational Biology, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.Ability to work independently in a remote environment, manage ambiguity, and collaborate effectively across disciplines.
