Director of Procurement

Exciting biotech company with strong clinical stage pipelines is seeking a Director of Procurement to join their expanding team. This newly created position will have the opportunity to build the department from ground up and serve as a key business partner across R&D and manufacturing departments. This role will lead the negotiation of complex agreements that support their late-stage pipeline.ResponsibilitiesLead contract negotiation strategy and execution for procurement agreements including CRO and CMO contractsNegotiate and manage professional services, and master service agreementsProvide guidance on pricing models, payment structures, risk allocation, and contract termsDevelop vendor relationships and drive negotiations that optimize costEstablish processes/procedures and best practices that's scalable for growthTrack and manage contract lifecycle activities, including renewals, amendments, change orders, and escalations.Identify opportunities for cost savings, process efficiency, and risk mitigation across the vendor portfolio.Provide mentorship, strategic leadership, and contribute to longer-term procurement strategy and vendor governance.Requirements:BA/BS degreeMinimum 10 + years experience in biotech/pharmaceutical industryExtensive experience in contract negotiation, strategic sourcing, and procurement managementMinimum 10 plus years of experience in biotech/pharmaceutical industryExperience negotiating agreements with CROs, CMOs, and other clinical-stage vendorsStrong business partnership and ability to work with senior stakeholders across functionsExcellent negotiation, communication, and problem-solving skillsComfortable working in a high visibility, a fast-paced environment
