Property Management Field Support

Title: PM Field Support Worker/Driver Unit: Scattered Site Housing Reports to: Property Administrative Manager Salary Range: $21.98 to $24.73 (approximately $40,000 to $45,000 annually) Status: Full Time, Regular, Non-Exempt Location: West 140th Street, New York, NY 10031 Days/Hours: Monday to Friday, 9:000 am to 5:00pm Organization Overview: The Fortune Society, Inc. (Fortune) has been working for over 57 years in service to our mission: to support successful reentry from incarceration and promote alternatives to incarceration, thus strengthening the fabric of our communities. The organization has evolved into one of the nation's preeminent reentry and justice-informed service organizations, providing formerly incarcerated people with the skills and wrap-around services needed to break the cycle of crime and incarceration and to build productive lives in their communities. Fortune has grown steadily over the years to an agency with close to $90 million in annual budget with just under 600 staff. We anticipate that we will keep growing, both in size and depth of service. Fortune has a dual mission: both advocacy and service. The advocacy portion of our mission focuses on building a more just criminal legal system and reducing the barriers to reentry into society. The service side of Fortune has evolved to encompass a broad range of programs that started with employment and education and now includes a robust array of services, among them: alternatives to incarceration, supervised release, court advocacy, discharge planning within correctional facilities, licensed substance use and mental health treatment, a housing continuum ranging from emergency and transitional through permanent congregate and scattered site housing, assistance in obtaining benefits, a care management unit, HIV services, a food and nutrition program, and an arts program. Each service we provide is informed by the needs of the population we serve. Fortune currently serves approximately 14,000 people a year. Our program models are recognized, both nationally and internationally, for their quality and innovation. We have locations in Brooklyn, The Bronx, Manhattan and Queens. Position Summary:Under the supervision of the Property Administrative Management, the PM Field Support will be responsible for ensuring that Housing Quality Standards assessments are conducted for units under the Scattered Site Housing portfolio. The PM Field Support will ensure that all units promote a safe and habitable environment for our tenants. Collaborative input presented by the SSH Case Managers, the tenants feedback and inspections of the PM Field Support will determine if the unit is deemed to be in habitable conditions. CommunicationThe candidate must have the ability to be proactive, work cohesively and network with others, contribute to discussions and be solution oriented. Essential Duties and Responsibilities:Conduct Initial/Annual Housing Quality Standards Assessments of new and existing SSH units.Report and document in our Sprocket Database any repairs or maintenance findings identified in a housing unit.Ensure that all units are equipped with operable smoke/carbon monoxide detectors and with fire extinguishers are in operable condition.Create tracker for monthly HQS inspections.Organize and Maintain Updated HQS'sFollow-up on the outcome of repairs by visiting the location to determine if the repairs and/or maintenance was completed according to satisfactory HQS.Ability to communicate effectively verbally and via written documentation.Responsible for overseeing unit lock changes.Perform other duties as needed. Qualifications:High school diploma or GED.At least 3 years of experience working in housing preferred.Familiar with NYC Housing Quality Standards and regulations.Experience working with substance abuse and criminal justice clients.Proficient in Microsoft Office computer applications and Outlook and Excel database.Ability to take initiative, be dependable, resourceful and be able to pay keen attention to detail.Receptive to development and training for job proficiency.Bilingual English/Spanish a plus; We seek talented, dedicated individuals from all walks of life who possess a strong commitment to this mission. Relevant personal experience is a plus.Travel RequirementsAbility to travel and drive throughout the 5 boroughs of New York City.Must have a clean, valid driver's license and be approved to drive agency vehicles.
