With a team of over fifty professionals, the company is guided by a strong commitment to people, partnerships, and the planet.Role OverviewOur client is seeking an Accounting Manager to join its finance team during a critical phase of organizational build out. This role is designed to strengthen the company’s accounting infrastructure as it scales a growing portfolio of utility-scale BESS projects. The Accounting Manager will introduce a key layer of leadership between the Controller and staff accountants, improving processes, ensuring accurate reporting, and supporting the complexity of project-based accounting. The position offers a unique opportunity to step into a high impact role where foundational systems, processes, and team structure are still being built.Duties & ResponsibilitiesOversee day-to-day accounting operations, including general ledger, month-end close, and financial reporting processesManage and mentor a team of staff and senior accountants, providing guidance, oversight, and professional developmentServe as a key intermediary between the Controller and accounting staff, ensuring alignment, accountability, and executionLead the monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes, ensuring accuracy and timeliness of financial statementsReview journal entries, account reconciliations, and supporting schedules prepared by the teamSupport the preparation of internal and external financial reports in accordance with GAAPPartner with the Controller to improve accounting processes, controls, and systems to support company growthAssist in the implementation and maintenance of internal controls and accounting policiesCollaborate cross-functionally with project finance, development, and asset management teams to support project-level accounting for BESS assetsSupport audit processes, including coordination with external auditors and preparation of audit deliverablesAssist with technical accounting matters, including areas relevant to renewable energy and energy storage projects (e.g., capitalization, revenue recognition, and project structures)Contribute to the build-out of scalable accounting infrastructure, including systems, workflows, and reporting frameworksEnsure compliance with regulatory, tax, and reporting requirementsQualifications5–8+ years of experience in accounting, with a mix of public accounting and industry experience preferredStrong foundation in technical accounting and GAAPPrior experience in renewable energy or energy infrastructure requiredExperience managing or mentoring accounting staffProven ability to operate in a fast paced, evolving environment with increasing complexityStrong attention to detail and ownership over financial accuracyExperience supporting audits and working with external auditorsBachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance (CPA strongly preferred or in progress)Systems experience (ERP, reporting tools) preferredLegally authorized to work in the U.S. without employer sponsorshipAbility to work in the office in Miami 4 days a weekWhy JoinStep into a key leadership role during a critical build-out phase of the finance functionDirect impact on scaling accounting processes and team structureOpportunity to work closely with senior leadership, including the Controller and CFOExposure to a high-growth energy platform with expanding project activityClear path for growth as the finance organization continues to scale
