Sr. Accountant / Sr. Associate, Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS)

With a team of over fifty professionals, the company is guided by a strong commitment to people, partnerships, and the planet.Role OverviewOur client is seeking a Sr. Accountant / Sr. Associate to join its finance team during a critical phase of organizational build-out. This role is designed to support the continued development of the company's accounting function as it scales a growing portfolio of utility scale BESS projects. The Sr. Accountant / Sr. Associate will play a key role in day-to-day accounting operations, financial reporting, and close processes, while working closely with the Accounting Manager and Controller. The position offers a unique opportunity to step into a high impact role within a lean team, with exposure to both corporate and project-level accounting in a rapidly growing energy platform.Duties & ResponsibilitiesSupport the monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes, including preparation of journal entries and account reconciliationsMaintain and reconcile general ledger accounts, ensuring accuracy and completeness of financial dataAssist in the preparation of financial statements and internal reporting in accordance with GAAPSupport project-level accounting activities, including tracking capital expenditures and asset-level financials across BESS projectsPrepare and review supporting schedules and documentation for internal and external reportingAssist with audit processes, including coordination with external auditors and preparation of audit deliverablesCollaborate with the Accounting Manager and Controller to improve accounting processes, controls, and workflowsPartner cross-functionally with project finance, development, and FP&A teams to ensure accurate financial reporting and alignmentSupport technical accounting analysis and research as neededAssist in implementing and maintaining accounting systems and reporting toolsContribute to building scalable accounting infrastructure as the company growsQualifications3–6+ years of experience in accounting, with public accounting experience preferredStrong understanding of GAAP and core accounting principlesPrior experience in renewable energy, infrastructure, or project-based industries preferredExperience supporting month end close and financial reporting processesStrong attention to detail and organizational skillsAbility to operate effectively in a fast paced, high growth environmentStrong communication skills and ability to work cross-functionallyBachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance requiredCPA preferred (or in progress)Experience with ERP systems and financial reporting tools preferredLegally authorized to work in the U.S. without employer sponsorshipAbility to work in the office in Miami 4 days a weekWhy JoinJoin a high growth energy platform at a pivotal stage of expansionGain hands on experience across both corporate and project level accountingWork closely with senior leadership, including the Accounting Manager and ControllerOpportunity for growth as the accounting and finance teams continue to scaleExposure to a rapidly expanding energy storage portfolio
