Inside Sales Representative

DescriptionBase $60,000-$80,000 + Bonus + Incentives.The Inside Sales Representative maintains and develops relationships with the assigned customer base to generate profitable, sustainable, and collectible business.Essential Functions & Job Responsibilities:Customer Service—o Assesses the customer’s business and identifies areas of opportunity to provide valueo Coordinates follow-up with customer to ensure timely and accurate deliverieso Takes a proactive approach to anticipating and preventing problems—i.e., defines the problem, investigates obstacles, and analyzes alternative solutionso Coordinates the resolution of customer complaints regarding damaged/incorrect material and delivery/inventory problemsProduct Knowledge—o Has existing knowledge of or the ability to learn carbon and non-ferrous product line and sells the product that will best meet the customer’s needsProcessing Orders—o Determines processing requirements and lead times to provide accurate delivery to customero Coordinates orders with warehouse and appropriate sales departments to ensure timely product delivery to customero Accurately enters data for completion of ordero Maintains record-keeping and reporting systems to regularly update account plans and objectives as appropriate to the profit potential of each customerPricing—o Establishes pricing guidelines for customers in coordination with Sales Management and other sales departmentBusiness Promotion—o Develops sales leadso Outcalls customers and potential customers as part of a larger marketing strategyOther Duties—o Adheres to the Norfolk Iron Code of Ethics in doing business with customerso Responds to periodic requests for information from management and corporate functionso Actively participates in weekly Sales meetings and represents Sales in BAM as necessaryo Meets annual training requirements for Inside Saleso All other duties as assignedBenefitso PTO offered immediatelyo No Weekendso Paid holidayso Monthly Bonus Opportunitieso Premium FREE Employee Healthcare and Life Insuranceo 401k with Company Matcho Education AssistanceRequired Skills & Abilities:• Strong negotiation skills• Organize/prioritize daily work activities to provide the best service to customers• Maintain professionalism and composure in all situations• Strong follow-up skills• Concentrate and maintain productivity in high pressure situations• Intermediate knowledgeEducation and Experience:• High school diploma or GED• College preferred but not required• 3—5 years of experience in Sales or Customer Service required; OR• 2+ years in sales of flat roll metal products or metal fabrication• An equivalent combination of education and experience may be substitutedPhysical Demands & Work Environment:In this section, detail the physical activities, weigh limits, duration of physical activity, and potential environmental demands that are essential to the job.• Ability to lift, pull, and/or push 50 lbs. on a semi-frequent basis.• Stand and walk for up to 10 hours per day.• Use hand and fingers to type and conduct computer tasks for up to 8 hours per day.• Ability to work in a dusty, hot environment for up to 10 hours per day.
